Speaking of former qb's, it looks like Rex Ryan is taking a liking to Kellen in NY. Hopefully he gets a chance to start and can have a good year. Possibly help shake the UO curse of late on QB's in the NFL.

Re: A question..
As a die-hard Joey fan it's hard to admit it but, During Akili's senior year he was the best passer I've ever seen at the O. And I've been going to games since 1968.VinnyKnuckles wrote:During his senior season, Akili was the most talented Oregon quarterback I have seen, by a pretty significant margin.

It amazes me how some of the Jets fans that responded to that article don't even want to give Kellen a chance at QB. The only real playing time he has had was as a second year pro. He didn't play great but he didn't stink it up considering the line and lack of weapons at the time.

Re: A question..
That's weird. I remember when Jets fans thought Kellen was the next Joe Namath and wanted Chad Pennington benched. Kellen got a "slight" shot, and his receivers let him down, imo. I think Kellen has the drive to succeed in the NFL, he just needs his chance this year. Re: A question..
Actually, UO has had a lot of good QBs at the college level. Not mentioned, so far, would be Bob Berry and Chris Miller. I was a little young at the time, so, I don't remember Norm VanBrocklin, but he and Dan Fouts had the best pro careers. I think Chris Miller had a decent pro career. Did anyone else. I think Kellen and DD will have. It would be hard to outdo Dan Fouts as a passing QB.
