With our offensive players healthy, and decent weather, the only team that has really stopped us in the last two years has been USC. Their defenders are big, physical, and fast. Boise's D might be good, but they aren't USC. I hate making predictions this early but if BOTH teams are healthy coming out of fall camp, then I could see a 48-28 score.

It's okay to make a prediction and qualify it with a caveat. For instance, barrying no injuries we should score like a drunken sailor in a brothel. Seriously, though, I need no caveat to say that we are going to score more than 21 points.

I really don't think this will be much of a contest. BSU lost A LOT on offense..Moore is about all they return. We'll control the clock on offense, score at will, and either Paysinger or Walt will house one.
if Masoli picks up from last year, this offense is unstoppable...way too early prediction 45-28

Alliotti has the gameplan already in place, it was handed to him by TCU. They played BSU perfectly last year in their bowl game, with a mix of blitzing pressure from various spots that left BSU baffled. Moore is not a mobile QB at all, and the pressure TCU put on him really hurt what they wanted to do offensively, he didn't have all day back there like against us last year when we were only bringing 4 most of the time. Get by the initial surge of excitement by BSU and the stadium and we will be fine.

cool, let us be the underdog ... i think they are in for a rude awakening!! I expect Masoli too say all the right things, but we all know he wants some serious payback against the Bronco's!!! IMO, he runs for atleast 3 TD's in this game!!!

I am so amped up for this game and it's only May. I take solace in the fact that we are now more than half way from our last game to the next. Well, most concur that 21 points is a slight. I understand the biased commentary (read: BSU wins) but let's be somewhat realistic. Anyway, I am keeping my fingers crossed that line gels during summer workouts and fall camp. I also wouldn't mind some guys bulking up, mostly Bair & Ward.

That TCU defense also had a bunch of 'just slightly late' hits and a lot of Pass interference that was not called. I think with all the flags thrown in that game, the refs had to let some of it go or the game would have lasted for six hours.

actually I like us going into this match as an underdog, hype up how tough they are at home, their ranking...etc.
It will be just that much more impressive when the Ducks walk out of there with a win.

It says that on offense the only key losses are Ian Johnson, Vinny Perretta, and Jeremy Childs. Childs and Perretta are big losses because they smoked us last year. Also, it says that they return their whole secondary including Kyle Wilson who is expected to be a big time player. I hope we attack them like we did Michigan a couple of years ago and hit the outsides with speed and find the seams with Dickson or Harper.

Our defense will be stout against their running game this year even if we put more focus on stopping the passing game. Our linebackers are studs and the line will come along. I don't think that we will have a huge drop off in production like we had when we lost Ngata. Also, one side of the field will be taken away for their passing game with the stellar play of WTIII.

I would expect huge rushing numbers again this year on our part. Masoli and Kelly will find a way to get the ball to the receivers enough to keep the run game flowing.

Oregon 52 Boise 24

PS Notice I put some points to the special teams unit. Hopefully that will come together and not lose games for us.

That is a lot to lose. Ian couldn't run behind their line last year. Avery appears to be a big drop off but they are talking about having lots of depth at the position. Btw, their oline is still undersized and inexperienced, albeit the return everyone (they had lots of freshman last year). They have a 255 pound walkon OT that is on their watchlist vying for a starting spot. Remember, they gained a total 36 on the ground against us. They should be slightly improved but if the TCU game was any indication, they didn't get better throughout the season against stiff competition.
