Re: Pflugrad to transfer
The Ducks will do just fine without him. He may have done well in the spring game but his size I think would have limited him against a lot of the Ducks opponents this year. This gives one of the bigger WR's a chance to step up. I agree with what a couple people have said in that this decision hurts him more than the Ducks. Let's just hope his sister stays put, I think we all would like to continue to look at her!!!

He'll do well wherever he goes. Just hope it isn't to Boise State. They had an article on him with a reference to the RG article by Moseley. I guess TJ Ward can set him straight.
Do you need a transfusion of GREEN O Positive?

If he goes to BSU, he has to sit out a year. I don't know how much his knowledge of the team could help out BSU. It's not like they don't have film on us and Kelly wasn't running gadget plays in Spring to prepare for the game in Fall. Of course, he has to have a level of inside information and it can't be a good thing. We know that his Dad's firing played at least a small part in his departure, so you have to beware of the resentment factor. Honestly, I hope he goes to WAZZU because we could tell them what we're doing and still win.duckscribe wrote:He'll do well wherever he goes. Just hope it isn't to Boise State. I think he meant that Ward could lay some wood as he's coming across the middle. However, Aaron will have to sit out a year.gregspechtismyhero wrote:What do you mean?duckscribe wrote:I guess TJ Ward can set him straight.

Re: Pflugrad to transfer
It really annoys me when people (there's only a few of them, most of us just say gbye and good luck) start criticizing Pflu and anyone else that decides against the ducks (i.e. Boyd, Brown, Pryor, etc.). Pflu was a hard worker and was a team player from everything I've heard. Obviously his dad being a coach here was a major factor in him wanting to be a Duck, and it's completely understandable for him not to want to keep playing for us. Just wish him the best.
I also think people are underestimating this loss. I'm pretty sure he would've been one of our top three or four receivers this year. Instead, we'll have to rely on some newcomers who won't have of completely mastered the offense most likely (Gaines, Jackson etc.) or some less talented players (Cavaille). We'll be able to still be a very solid, even great offensive team without him, but this is a major loss. Pflu and Celotto have been pretty awful losses for us this offseason. Survivable losses, but damaging ones.

His loss, not ours.
People think because he had a nice Spring game, that he was all set to be our leading WR. His long TD came off of blown coverage. Nothing special.

Major loss....Hardly a "major loss"...Masoli or Blount would be a major loss...Pflu, do we wanna see him leave....? No, but he is not a major loss.Tray Dub wrote:It really annoys me when people (there's only a few of them, most of us just say gbye and good luck) start criticizing Pflu and anyone else that decides against the ducks (i.e. Boyd, Brown, Pryor, etc.). I agree with Tray Dub. He was defnitely a hard worker and reliable. I am not saying the others long term wise are not better but his experience will be a major loss. W have some tough games this coming season and would be nice to have a person with 2 years experience who worked hard and caught most everything thrown his direction. A Go to guy when others not catching the ball. With him leaving who can we truly rely on in 3rd and 8 to get us the first down. This leaves us with nobody proven. I know somebody will step up long term wise. We will now just have to wait and see who it is.

Well, lets put it this way..It is not as though we have a shortage of talented receivers, with considerably better speed and physical attributes...Most likely, one if not more of the balance of our receiving corps will step up and take care of business...GoDucksIn09 wrote:I agree with Tray Dub. I am not belittling Pflu's potential value to the team, but lets face it...HE WAS NOT AND WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN "THE TEAM"..
I am much more excited about the possibilities with CH, Jamere Holland, etc....One block and those kids are GONE, not needing to traverse the field (back and forth) and relying on numerous blocks to gain yardage...
I wish Pflu the best in the balance of his life...He has apparently made his choice and that is the end of the story....It seems a shame that the likelihood of him landing elsewhere with a shot at a NC is pretty damn slim though...

Re: Pflugrad to transfer
I think that the poster's comment about Ward setting him straight was regarding his potential move to BSU. It was not a crack at Pflu himself. If he went to BSU, I'd be a little annoyed since they're our opponent in our NEXT game. I've already developed a little bit of an attitude towards that team, so Pflu would have to get lumped up into that if he chooses to go there. If he goes to Colorado State, they become my favorite mountain west team. He goes to BSU, I develope a dislike for Pflu that last until Sept. 4.
In all actuality, I think BSU is the best destination for him. They have a poll on whom takes the third spot after Titus Young and Austin Pettis and they do not appear deep at all. He'd have to sit a year anyway, which put him a year behind the former two. The year he comes out he is the most viable third option. Of course, the venerable Kirby Moore (brother to Kellen) is the fan favorite. However, he is going to have to win over the fanbase where ever he goes.

Re: Pflugrad to transfer
it's too bad he's leaving, but it seems to me that everyone is forgetting who would have been starting over Pflugrad come fall anyways - a receiver who also has had two seasons in the system and a ton more game breaking skills... DJ Davis. Are people forgetting about him because he changed his name, because he was injured for the spring, or both?
Maybe my hopes for him are too high, but I've liked what I've seen from him in limited duty the last couple years. I think he's primed for a breakout season.
