Summer workouts...

Post by BisonDucks »

just a quick question: does anyone follow the players during summer workouts? From my limited experience regarding the offseason, the players run a lot of 7 on 7 drill. Also, they are bulking up and trying to get faster. This is where Mr. Radcliff comes in and shines for our team. Anyway, from my recollection the coaches cannot run these practices and they are not mandatory. So, back to my original inquiry, are we supplied any information about player's progress via media reports? Do they open the practices to the public? I am just a little curious about the summer format, so anybody who's been following the Ducks 365 day a year, please chime in. I just don't know if I can make it to fall camp...

Rob Moseley's blog followed a lot of the summer action last year. I would bet he will this year too.

Yes, they do the 7-7's and conditioning on the practice field and you can watch. It is informal in a sense, because as you noted they are not run by the staff, but it is organized if that makes sense. This is where leaders like Masoli, Costa, WT3, and others will be big to make sure guys are working hard and buying into the workouts. It will be huge for guys like Diante Jackson and Gaines to come in and start learning quickly to get ahead for Fall camp.
