Re: A Different View on Harper
I remember the 'Hot Chick' I dated a couple times. She was so self-centered, she ruined the guy she did marry (2 of them, in fact... Thank God it wasn't me!).
The girl I married turned out to be a whole lot better package deal, and the fact she wants to be here and help raise this great family makes even hotter for me... Good team work makes all the difference!
How's that for an analogy?

Wounded... Couldn't agree more! Team work and wanting to be there are the key ingredients in a good marriage and a good football team

Re: A Different View on Harper
Sounds like Harper and Thomas have no love for one another, and in fact DT was taking a shot at Harper with his facebook coment "go hard or go home, that's the Oregon way." It will be funny to see DT throw for 300+ on KState and run for a 100 in front of Harper.

You know that for sure?buckmarkduck wrote:Sounds like Harper and Thomas have no love for one another, and in fact DT was taking a shot at Harper with his facebook coment "go hard or go home, that's the Oregon way."
Because if that is true, that should completely dispel any rumors about DT transferring

Re: A Different View on Harper
DT just posted that yesterday (as another poster pointed out earlier), and rumor's been since the BSU game that Harper has held animosity towards DT. From what I've heard they don't like one another a whole hell of a lot.

Well, if Harper held animosity towards Darron Thomas simply because DT came in and cleaned up the mess Harper made, then good riddance to Harper.buckmarkduck wrote:DT just posted that yesterday (as another poster pointed out earlier), and rumor's been since the BSU game that Harper has held animosity towards DT. Re: A Different View on Harper
That doesn't make sense, Harper had a sweet game v BSU last year. What did DT do? Hardly anything except almost win the game and throw 3 TD passes... no biggie.buckmarkduck wrote:and rumor's been since the BSU game that Harper has held animosity towards DT.

Sounds like he may have been a little envious of those three TD's if anything.

Re: A Different View on Harper
If Thomas did in fact aim his comment "go hard or go home, that's the Oregon Way" at Harper then I love the kid's moxie and am very happy that he's the one that stayed.

Exactly, or just grow the f*** up and learn that your gonna have to let go of momma's t*t some day. I think this is just a stupid excuse for being pissed about sucking at QB. whatever, if his heart was never in it, then good riddance. Peniel Jean's gonna f you s up when we take a trip to Manhattan.DmoneyDuck wrote:Not to sound like an ass, but then why the f*** do you come here then if homesickness is going to be a huge problem? Don't tell me he didn't know how home sick he would be..as a person who likes being close to home, you "know" if you're going to be missing home a lot way before you sign those LOI papers.
It's one thing to yearn to be home, but not giving it all on the field...screw that...2 fingers peace..Harp

Re: A Different View on Harper
No offense, but a lot of these posts sound like sour grapes. Harper is a huge talent and it is a loss for the Ducks football team. He just happens to be young and homesick. This happens to a lot of kids his age. Years ago, I came to Oregon for college from out of state and had a difficult time my first year. I hated the weather, the "feel" of the place was different, and I missed home. I actually planned on moving to a sunnier and warmer climate for the rest of my college. However, for various reasons, that didn't happen. I stayed and finished college and ended up loving it here in Oregon. If Harper would have stayed and graduated, I think he would have come around to really liking it here too. But he didn't. The reality is, good things can come for him regardless of which decision he made. This one decision to leave is not going to ruin his life or make everything great. Most of the time it is a series of choices that define who we are, not one. What sucks though, is that all of us, including Harper, will never know what could have been in regards to his impact on Oregon Football. And he will never know how persevering through this difficult time here at Oregon would have panned out for him in a personal sense. Personally, I wish him the best, because in my mind it doesn't do any good to do anything but that.

Re: A Different View on Harper
Harper shouldn't have anything bad to say about Oregon. He was given his opportunity at qb last season and failed.
