He seemed like a good guy and I hope makes the most of his next opportunity.
Yep, good post.
To elaborate on my original post, it was obvious that he was moping & not putting out a lot of effort. The reason for that was his homesickness/not being at QB. As long as he was either not at QB or not at home in Kansas, he was going to have that attitude & as long as he had that attitude, he was never gonna be much of a contributer. I hope, for his sake, he does well at Kstate.
LiberalDuck I couldn't disagree with you more about Harper being a big loss to us. Sure he is extremely talented, but talent only gets you so far in a game like football. Harper, as many of us have seen, was never really on board with this team and once it became clear after the BSU game that he wasn't going to be playing QB for us anymore his attitude became pretty poor. During this Spring I attented a handful of practices and he was always doing just enough to get by, if even that, and it was extremely obvious he didn't want to be here. Why else do you think those rumors about Harper never went away? Personally I am glad he is gone because I have had the misfortune of playing with a teammate that was unhappy and I can honestly say that if you allow someone like that to hang around it begins to not only wear on the rest of the team, but it can effect team chemistry as well, which can determine the difference between a good team and a bad team. We need players who are "All in" and willing to put in the hard work.
"Go hard or go home, it's the Oregon way" as Darron Thomas would say.
As for the rumors about Darron Thomas transferring. I have heard that Thomas is very committed to Oregon, especially since Roper left and pretty much guarantees that DT will be doing more than holding a clipboard and signaling in plays.
