Nope, the developer wanted to put it in but was told that it was a one-time uniform and wouldn't be worn again so it wasn't put in. The black helmet wasn't put in since it more than likely won't be used until new uniforms are produced for the 2010 season.gregspechtismyhero wrote:So no blackout?

Re: First screenshot from NCAA Football 2010
One of the guys from ncaastrategies.com who played at the community day, said that Oregon had a home, away, and 13 alternate preset uni combos, plus the mix and match. But he didn't say anything about what colors they had.greenyellow wrote:stewbertwilloughby wrote:This was posted on ESPN

"ESPN: I saw the ability to mix and match uniforms in the game for each team. How will that work?
Ben Haumiller: In years past, you had your home uniform, your away uniform, and you might have a couple of alternates. But this year, we wanted to break these up into individual pieces because there are so many uniforms that are just the change of a pant color or something like that. So we broke all of these up so you can set your helmet, your jersey, your pants and your shoe color independent from each other. Just doing that right there, the number for the potential of alternate jerseys grew exponentially, especially for a team like Oregon who has different helmets and like eight different jersey tops and three or four different pants. If you're playing as Oregon, you can have a completely different uniform every game of the season."
So apparently ALL of Oregon's uni combo's are in the game! That is if they put in each color of helmet, jersey, and pants.
On another website, one of the developers of NCAA 10 who works on the unis posted the codes they used for Oregon unis. They had 3 helmets (no black), all 4 uniforms, and at least 16 preset combos. If you don't like the preset combos, you can just mix and match any helmet, jersey, pants, and socks/shoes. This is one of the sweetest additions to this year's game. There are also some photos floating around that they may have also gotten some new or redone helmets into the game.

I wonder if the flames on the white and grellow helmets will be noticeable.

They haven't released any photos of the other helmets yet, but will start posting uniforms of various teams starting June 2. We'll find out after then. I would imagine that they would try to get those on the helmets.echo31 wrote:I wonder if the flames on the white and grellow helmets will be noticeable.

Might be tough for them to get those to look right because of the reflective quality. I doubt they have the models set up to handle that type of surface.

Stew, any word on when they might be releasing some team & player ratings? Also, since you are connected too their forums, if you can make your own post and let the developers who work on this game know ( most are from Florida ) that Miami and Florida St. will suck agian this year ( and thats being nice ) and too stop juicing their teams up! i.e. I still wanna how they gave Florida St. a 94 overall team rank in 09'.

haha ya seriously no joke, Florida St had a 99 defense last year and was unranked
I heard it was because one of the developers that worked on teams ratings is a die hard Seminoles fan.

In one of the videos it shows a quick look as they are picking teams.
Florida State: Ovr:A+ Off:A Def:A+ Spt:A
Compared to...
Florida: Ovr:A+ Off:A Def:A+ Spt:A-
Now the actual number rating might be different, but going by this, they rated Florida State BETTER than FLORIDA! You know, the reigning national champs with a returning Heisman trophy winner and 11 returning starter on defense including an all-american DE. But a team that hasn't finished the season ranked higher than 21st since 2003, whoa they're good =P

I always found FSU to be overrated by EA. They seem to base all of their ratings off the recruiting databases and not the actual player performances on the college field. I think that EA Sports needs to find a way to incorporate team chemistry and player effort into their rating system. I don't know how you could measure player effort but it would be a good idea because lower ranked teams and players tend to go hard trying to prove others wrong while higher ranked players and teams sometimes coast since they don't feel the need to continue working as hard as everyone else.stewbertwilloughby wrote:That really doesn't matterslammer wrote:Stew, any word on when they might be releasing some team & player ratings? I've always wanted them to incorporate more coaches to the game. All the coaches would have attributes too, just not as many. But if your coach is better at motivating their players, is well liked, is experienced, is a good teacher, the players would get a boost. So games wouldn't just depend on players ratings. So a team could be like Off:B- Def:C+ Spt:B+ AND Cch:A, and would complete with better schools.greenyellow wrote:I always found FSU to be overrated by EA. Very cool idea. I also wish players could develop over the season, instead of just the off-season.
Edit: or, kind of like your idea, you just have a team unity ranking or something. Having good team unity will increase development, help recruiting, and increase your team's ability in games. Who you recruit (i.e. high character players with high GPAs will help unity and vice versa) and who your coach is would determine team unity. That way, the game takes into consideration what kind of kids you build your program around.
