I do not understand the preference for California all of a sudden. They lost one of the best centers in the country, three linebackers and are without a QB - even if they had a QB, Riley's best talent as HC lately is destroying the confidence of his QB's. Now that's a re-building year! ... And they play Oregon and USC back-to-back, which means at least one loss. Yet since the end of spring practice, every analyst loves them. I don't get it.

Well we lost half our o-line, the majority of our WRs, half our d-line, and half our DBs, while we gained 30 pounds for our (already heavy) starting RB. And USC lost their QB, their LBs, some of their lines, and their OC. So it's not like Cal has lost much more than anyone else. And they have Best, who is a fantastic RB by all accounts. I get the hype. I just think that until (or hopefully if :) ) Kelly fails with an offense, people should assume we have a great offense, and our LBs and WT3 will be studs this year, so we can beat them. But I see why the analysts have such a crush on them.

Yeah I think he'll end up being a bit off, but then again that may just be the biased Duck fan in me talking. Remember, this is the same guy who had Oregon as a darkhorse national title contender in 2007 when everyone else was writing us off, so I guess only time will tell...

Looks like that list was really Phil Steele's list.

Funny how he has 4 teams in front of us that we beat last season.

so far the list is correct. go to his website. but hes only up to number 12. even if were not in it, which would be crazy to be below teams like arizona and troy, who cares what he says. we know that will be correct and espn knows, its down to oregon oregon state and cal to steal the pac 10 title from usc this year.

The majority voted for Oregon to win 10 games.

I think 9-10 wins is about right. Of course, as a HUGE Duck fan, I'd love to see an undefeated season, but I doubt it will happen.

Can only rationalize the list by thinking he ate the mushrooms sent to him by the AG school
