Re: USC @ Oregon (series tied 1-1)
usc's starter had been unhittable his last several starts, great bounce back game from the bats. spot on w/ tolman.
krook is so fun to watch. he's crazy wild still, but if he loads the bases with three consecutive walks he's just as likely to strike the next three out to get himself out of a jam. from a pure 'stuff' perspective, not sure we've had a better arm since rebirth. he's going to be lethal.

great stuff by gold, it's like 2012 all over again with him holding down sundays.
i would very much enjoy a sweep over utah next weekend.

Thorpe has pitched solid, but needs to get winning again. Utah should be a good starting point for him.
Nice pitching though from Krook and Gold, good stuff.

thorpe has been pitching well
just had that one bad outing against fullerton. dominated ohio state, and pitched good friday but usc's guy was better. 2 runs and 5 hits over 7 should be good enough to win, but oregon's bats couldn't get anything going until there were already 2 outs in an inning.
got some production from out catchers this weekend, which was nice. each started once, and combined they went 4/8 w/ a .625 OBP. small sample size? of course. but outside of 2010 (e-rod) and to a lesser extent 2012 (hambright) we've gotten almost nothing out of our catchers, so if a hyper-platoon is what it takes, we may be seeing a lot of all three the rest of the way.
heineman re-injured his shoulder. gutted it out friday, but he may be out for a bit.
