Re: Arizona @ Oregon (3 game series Fri-Sun Pac-12 Networks)
arizona is 18-25 (7-14) but they're not a bad team. they can pitch a little, and anyone who can pitch a little has a decent shot at limiting us offensively (as we all know). what's weird is that they're struggling offensively, and anyone who's been paying attention to pac-12 baseball since oregon reinstated its team knows that arizona can ALWAYS hit. so it's an unusual wildcat team. before taking the finale from asu today they had lost five straight, but almost all those games had been close. prior to that skid, they had taken series from utah and ucla.
they've got a poor record and they won't make the tournament, but i'm expecting three competitive games.

oregon wins 6-1.
ducks beat a really good pitcher tonight. shaun chase went yard twice and smoked a double, he was zoned in. karaviotis had two rbi singles. thorpe was in total command.

Can we substitute some of those runs for last weekend's series?oregontrack wrote:oregon wins 6-1.

Shaun Chase was a beast last night. Can't believe he went deep for 2 HRs. Great to see!

Re: Arizona @ Oregon (Ducks lead series 1-0)
he obliterated both shots, but the first one was especially impressive. really, really hard to hit a ball out to dead center at PK, and that cleared the fence with ease. kid has had raw power since his freshman year, glad he's seeing the ball better and allowing himself more at-bats to make use of it.
impressive 5th inning. after chase's HR, grebeck dragged a perfect bunt down the 1B line and the pitcher had to force a bad throw in the dirt to try to get him. ball went wide, grebeck got around to 3B. karaviotis knew to look for a first pitch fastball immediately after and sat on it, driving in a much needed insurance run.
was thinking last night after the game: it's not set in stone, as all three are draft eligible, but heineman, garlick, and chase could all come back next year. with the encouraging play of our freshman class (namely balta, grebeck, and karaviotis) + tolman, our line-up has a lot of potential in 2015. especially if jb bryant or jack kruger become everyday players, + a freshman or two next year we don't know about yet. makes me really really really hope irvin and krook are good to go.

ducks win 7-6 in 10 after traling 6-2 with two outs in the 7th and rally on 2 run triple by garlick and 2 run homer by packard

really glad the offense could pick up gold this week. he's kind of come from nowhere to help keep this season afloat, and he's still undefeated despite a rough afternoon where he was battling the flu.

Huge 7th inning, I did not think we were coming back at all. Packard and Chase swung the bat well.
And Garlick's triple was huge, he was having a really rough game before that hit.

Am I missing something, here?
PAC12 Network is showing last season's Oregon UCLA football match.

Ridiculous, weather delay for softball game and they can't show the Arizona/Oregon game. Pac-12 is terrible at managing their channel. Smh.woundedknees wrote:Am I missing something, here?

Re: Arizona @ Oregon (Ducks lead series 2-0)
baseball/softball were both at rain delays.
the true affront to common sense is starting a game so damn late in the afternoon that any delay would end it early because of travel restrictions. a rubber match between #1 and #2 and it ends in a tie? nice.
