well, i think i was wrong about what we needed to do to host a regional. our rpi is just not improving like i was hoping it would, and even sweeping our next two weekend series (which is unlikely) probably won't make too much of a difference, as both ucla and cal are under .500.

looks like we'll be hitting the road.

cleavinger tried to sabotage another excellent effort from a starting pitcher, but big props to paddon coming in and cleaning up his mess.

He's been doing that more often lately. He needs to quit walking players like that. UCLA's pitcher went a complete game without any walks.

Anyway, a win is a win, and we played pretty good offensively (ty Tolman).

yeah he's definitely not as automatic as he was last year. he's not really getting hit hard, but his command goes to hell and when he's off he'll walk a million guys in a row.

fun fact: the last three pac-12 national champions failed to make the postseason the following year. osu '07, arizona '12, ucla '13. weird.

nice road win. hadn't won a road series since we swept hawaii and loyola-marymount to begin the series. LOTS of close closes, glad to get over the hump.
