Coaching assignments

Post by maxduck »

Reading Mosley's blog on special teams got me wondering who will be coaching the kickers. With MB moving into the AD's office does the job fall to Tom Osborne as the special teams coach? Anybody know? I also wonder if the philosophy on kickoffs will change. Hopefully they will try to kick deep rather than trying for the sidelines and letting the the opponent start somewhere outside the 30 yard line.

I dont know who will be coaching them but have another question in regards to special teams. Who will be our long snapper on punts and are they working on consistency at that position. I would guess Tom Osborne is taking it over. Another question... will they continue with the shield formation on punts.

Whats wrong with kicking to the sideline? There's nothing frustrating about giving the opponent the ball at the 35 yard line every other possession.

I believe that Jeff Palmer was expected to inherit the role of long snapper. Of course they are working on consistency, they do at every position. However, reports indicate that snapping in general (both in the regular offense and on special teams) was erratic today. Also, none of the punters were very consistent. Place kicking, punting and kickoffs could be an achilles heel this season.
