What a lot of you seem to be failing to realize is that Dennis Dixon struggled pretty much all the way up to his final year and only put together 8 solid games (Which would have undoubtedly been more had he not got hurt) in his career as a starter. The year before that he split time with Brady Leaf and many fans were calling for Brady to be the starting QB. Up until our first game against Houston (DD Sr. Year) people were not sold on whether or not DD could effectively lead our team and some people even questioned his desire to play football after the lack of confidence he showed at the end of the 2006 season and his decision to play minor league baseball instead of participating in summer workouts. What i'm trying to get at is that when DD was a freshman or even sophomore, nobody would have guessed that by the time he was a Sr. he would have turned into a frontrunner to win the Heisman trophy. A lot of the unsureness surrounding the true ability of DD had to do with his inability to take hold of the starting job and Gary Crowton's inability to get the best out of not only DD, but all of his QB's. Once coach Kelly got ahold of DD it was like the light went on and the game slowed down for DD. Luckily for Darron Thomas he will most likely have the same coach (Kelly, Helfrich) while he is at Oregon and while it is unfair IMO to compare DD as a Sr. versus DT as a freshman, I will say that DT is further along in his development as a Duck QB than DD was at this same point in time. Does that mean DT will be better than DD? NO, but he is on the right track and the longer he is in the system, the better he will become.

Personally, I think if it isn't DT, CK must be working some serious JuJu with another QB by that time!
