I'm sorry but if I'm Blount I throw about 30 punches. A cheap taunt like that woulda set me off so bad. Most people I've heard (ESPN college football writers & experts) are criticizing Peterson for not suspending "knocked the F*ck" Hout.

That still doesn't make what Blount did right. Plenty of players taunt. You deal with it and walk away.

Where did I say it was right for Blount to do that? I just gave what my reaction would've been & that Hout deserves some punishment too. Obviously Blount never should have done that.

Sure there are two ways to handle anything. Hout should have kept his mouth shut. But what would you teach your kids to do in Blount's situation? My kids are taught to swallow their pride, say "Yeah that A** whoopin' didn't work out so well did it?" and keep on walking, knowing that there will be another chance to shine.

Thats what they're taught but would they. I am honestly the most calm person ever, a guy sucker punched me playing bball one time then next time down he shoved me into a wall(all because I stole it 3 times in a row) and all I could muster to say was 'come on'. After a game like that though and a guy shoves me and yells in my ear, IDK. I prolly would have tensed up and walked away but at least contemplated shoving him back or something.

What Blount did afterwards I would not have done. Inexcusable, unless the fans were throwing the n* word around and threatening him with a chair as he says I can see doing something about that, I wouldn't charge them but I would tell the cop there or something. If you watch the Boise fans had to be held back by a Duck fan cause they were so out of control. It was all just a mess.

The entire situation is chock full of disgusting behavior and Blount takes the entire fall for everyone. It was wrong for Kelly to suspend Blount for the entire season. I honestly don't know if I will ever see him the same.

Well, I like Wrighster, but that is a stupid statement. It is promoting violence and nothing good would have come out of it. BSU players attacking Blount after the incident is not protecting their teammate. What would have then ensued would have just made both universities look stupid and out of control. Furthermore, the NCAA would feel compelled to take drastic action (ie NO BOWL GAMES or worse). And it would have reminded me of the thug Miami teams - and that is not an easy thing to swallow. It would have been a black eye on the university for years.

This whole incident began brewing last year with the late hits and the Duck loss at Autzen and continued with the revenge factor and the media's desire to stir the pot for a story and quotes and thus, the "a** whoopin" comment and other player comments. Blount was extremely frustrated and disappointed in his play and his team's play, and that, combined with the events and comments over the past year, formed the perfect storm. It was unleashed when Hout opened up his big mouth and put his hands on Blount.

The whole thing is really sad for everyone involved, especially Blount, who really does seem like a decent guy who just made a really bad decision and lacked the self-control needed to make it a minimally bad situation instead of a horribly bad situation. Peterson should suspend Hout for a game to send a crystal clear message to him, his teammates and anyone who truly cares about sportsmanship.

I agree too. However, winning trumps all. If Boise St. keeps winning, all that a majority of people will remember is the punch. Kirk Herbstreit is the only national person I heard who said that Haut should be suspended. Who would have thought Kirk as the voice of reason?
