If Holland catches that one ball I don't think we'd be complaining too much about Masoli.....

There were several passes off the hands of key receivers tonight.

Not that I heard aimed at the Ducks, but I did see a little old lady obviously saying "Oh, sh***!" on the post game hilights.

Re: Purdue vs Oregon Game Week Thread
Positives:
1. Thurmond. The interception, and the kickoff/punt returns.
2. The running game in the second half.
3. Jackon Rice looked pretty good again.
Negatives:
1. Too many penalties.
2. The overall defense, despite the 2 huge interceptions. Tackling was poor, no qb pressure, third down conversions, etc.
3. Masoli still didn't look comfortable.
4. Some key drops by the wide receivers.
A win is a win, and improvement was shown in some areas. Still not a performance that will beat many pac 10 teams though.

There was some booing, it was just once, but I was surprised. I don't remember the play, but I think it was the one before the missed field goal.chump01284 wrote:Did we have any booing during the game?.

Are guys like Tunei, Cantu, Drew Davis, etc even playing? I know our offense is geared towards the run, but I would really like to see our wide receivers involved more in the game.

You really have a problem with holding a team to 33% on third down? We had three turnovers, two defensive touchdowns, some big tackles for losses, and decent pressure (I disagree that there was none, obviously).duckgrad99 wrote:Positives:

Well, I thought the defense overall was very poor. I'm not discounting those 2 huge interceptions, but they don't mean that our defense played well. If Purdue puts up 36 points, imagine what teams like Cal and USC can do? And the tackling was about as bad as could be. Good teams just don't give up that many points and look lost on defense to average at best OOC teams.

I'm a little too tired to get into a real discussion about the overall performance of the defense, but I'm just curious: do you think holding a team to 33% for their third down conversion rate is a negative? Because you listed it like it is.

Don't forget the 3-3 4th down conversions. Anyway, we got the victory tonight, but the team really has to improve in all aspects going forward. 33 percent is fine for tonight, but what about that last touchdown by Purdue? Anyway, I don't think a defense plays well when they give up 36 points.

The defensive was on the field for 86 plays and that will tire and defense out. They looked great at times but the wear and tear will do stuff to you if out that long.

The dropped passes are killing Masoli right now. He isn't an accurate passer to begin with but when you mix in a bunch of dropped passes its going to be real hard for Masoli to get into any kind of rythm throwing the ball.

Whatever is that new O-line "slide" - Duck and cover? Seemed to confuse the Defense a bit.
Do you need a transfusion of GREEN O Positive?
