The rest of Purdue's season
To me the Purdue team we played saturday seemed much better than last year's Purdue team. Much more athletic. Their OL is a lot better and Bolden is a hell of a back, and Joey Elliot seems to be much more of a playmaker than Curtis Painter.
I'm not trying to inflate the quality of our win, but I could see Purdue winning some unexpected conference games and possibly sneaking into a bowl game.
Just my .02

It's always easier to compliment your opponents after you beat them.

I agree with you. I think that Purdue does look to be a much better team this year.HugeInTheEug wrote:To me the Purdue team we played saturday seemed much better than last year's Purdue team. It's possible, although Oregon also had a better team least season IMO.

Early in the season and being led by Roper? Seems like we weren't firing on all cylinders last year either.duckgrad99 wrote:It's possible, although Oregon also had a better team least season IMO.

Right, but we had JJ and Blount, plus guys like Byrd, Chung, Unger, Reed, etc/

Re: The rest of Purdue's season
I watched last year's game on TV, and I was at this year's game.
I seem to be in the minority in thinking we played much better in this year's game than we did in last year's game.
Purdue looked inferior last year, and we played like a team that was repeatedly shooting itself in the foot.
This year, Purdue looked much tougher, and I feel that the Ducks did a great job of improving from the BSU game while managing to defend its home turf against an unexpectedly good opponent.
Purdue is no patsy; we don't get a real "tune up" game until Oct. 3.

Willie Taggart is a dick.

Re: The rest of Purdue's season
This Purdue team is better. Living in Michigan, I watched them a few times last year. They were not as good and lacked physical play on both lines. Not this year.
The LBs are playing much better. The return of Jason Werner was very important to them.
Jaycen Taylor has always played good when he was healthy. Now, Bolden is just a stud. Having two playmaking runningbacks is always good, as we know.
