Emotion... crowd?

Post by jimmy12 »

I was not able to travel to the game this week and am curious on people's take on the emotion of the crowd? How was the atmosphere? Noise level? Intensity?

Also, how was the discipline of the team? If you read Bob Rickert's blog, you would think the Ducks were really unprofessional...

Any thoughts?

actually the emotion was intense. we were as loud as i have heard it at times, and it didnt seem to affect purdues quarterback. i was also watching the team for any unsportsmanship at all, and i really didnt see any. just my .02

I thought the emotion was pretty weak...And we weren't very loud at all...You could tell there was still a hangover from the Boise State game...Hopefully this win will prop people back up and we'll have some noise to rattle Utah's new QB

sub par, esp. for the first home game of the season with a quality opponent.

I fear that it will be the same for the Utah game. We better get the intensity up......

TJ Ward is needed for the crowd and the team.

Just wait until USC shows up on Halloween. If Autzen isn't rocking then, it's a lost cause. :)

I don't know how many games you've been to, but I've been going to all the home games since 1999 and that was one of the weakest crowds for energy and noise I've ever seen. Those old farts need to learn how to scream or give their tickets to their grand kids.

On TV it seemed the quietest I've heard in a long time. Did you see that couple in the FRONT ROW chowing down on nachos, barely paying attention?!

I cant speak for the whole crowd, but in GA (not really GA anymore by the way, Hello ticket spike next year) it was pretty loud..not unbelievable but pretty good....It seemed good at the time but in hindsight it could have been louder...The Purdue fans I talked to seemed impressed however....First thing they said was how loud it was...
Stewart Mandel-"From a purely aesthetic standpoint, I much prefer to watch a good spread-rushing offense over a traditional Power-I offense, and Oregon's has been the most fun by far for the past several years. It's fast, its precise, and when Chip Kelly has the right quarterback (Dixon, Masoli) at the helm, the possibility of someone ripping off a 60-yard run exists on nearly every play."

Loud enough to (thankfully) occasionally drown out Petros' babbling on Fox.

Early 3rd quarter was the quietest I've heard Autzen in a while. Crowd wasn't really into the game until the 4th quarter.

Section 21 sucks, everyone was sitting while all the other sections were standing. I wouldn't sit put the people behind me started getting mad and I've already been asked by security to sit in previous games so I didn't want any trouble and sat.. Takes the fun out of the game if you ask me.

I was watching the game on Disk Network and the announcers mentioned quite a few times that the crowd seemed pretty quiet. It will be louder this Saturday because I'll be there!! Ooooooooooooooooooo

You've been asked to sit by security? I always wondered about that... I guess I have to sit if people ask.

Yeah section 28 sucks as well. It was so weird because everyone was standing for the kickoff, then when Purdue's offense trotted onto the field, literally everyone sat down simultaneously except for myself, my friend, and a couple guys a few rows down from us. I was literally shocked and confused. It was kinda pathetic. The reason for going to the games is to be a part of the game. The people who go to just sit and watch need to watch at home, it would be a thousand times better for them. I understand the people asking for others to sit when we are on offense, but defense is a different story. I had an old lady ask me to sit down once when we were on defense and I turned around, looked her in the eye and straight up told her "NO" . She was mad.
