Danny Manning B C+ C C+ B- A
Scouts wonder if Manning’s scoring package is best served as a complementary piece rather than a focal point. At Kansas, Manning was deemed the second best player in all of college but Manning failed to score a single point against the USSR in a semi final game in amateur Olympic game. When Manning gets hot, he’s light out. But on cold nights, Manning can look like just another serviceable big on the court. Time will tell if he can reach his peak. Amazing potential
Charles Smith B C- C- B B- B
In short, Smith has a very impressive combination of size, athleticism, and ball skills. Will he ever become an All-DASL 1st team player is a question. He does a nice job in terms of off-ball movement, cutting hard off screens to break free for touches/shots. When he does have the ball, he is always a threat to create his own shot. Good potential
Tim Perry C+ C D B+ B+ C
Good rim protector. He is handsy, alert, and aggressive, while having the perfect combination of veteran discipline and youthful tenacity. Scouts wonder how long his body can last in a full 82 game schedule after recurring injuries. Defensively, he has the strength to keep opponents from dominating inside the paint. Also an effective blocker and can get a steal every now and then. Good potential
Mark Bryant B D D C+ B D
Ideal rim protector with limited potential. Bryant has also shown great ability in the pick and roll game. Scores inside the paint. Strong enough to set up shots for himself. Guards paint and perimeter well. Good rebounder. A nice thing about Bryant is that he can also be used to go after the ball or get back in transition and score near the basket.
Jerome Lane B- C C C C+ A
Lane is a solid athlete but he is not anything too special in this area. Average all around. Scouts feel he has the abilities to become a great player but wonder if he can utilize those skills. There are never any real spacing errors with Lane and he rarely takes bad shots. Teams will love Lane’s IQ as it translates to DASL. Amazing raw potential
Anthony Mason C+ C C C+ C A
Small school sensation who will have an adjustment period in the DASL. Needs to improve in all areas. Can score at all levels but consistency is lacking. Average post defender at the moment but rebounding will need work. Great potential but teams will need patience.
Orlando Graham C C- D B- B+ B
Top end rebounder who excels on the boards. Very good post defender and can minutes off the bench tomorrow. Offensively he is a lost cause though. Not a flashy player but does the things that help a team win. Good potential
Grant Long B C- C- B- C+ B
Athletic big who plays like SF. Good scorer inside the arch but he will not step outside. Active hands on the defensive end and prefers to play outside the paint defensively as his size limits his ability. Active offensive rebounder. Good potential.
Fennis Dembo B D D B C+ D
Sixth man contender who can play for an inside focused team and get buckets. Small for the position and might be best served playing down in the league. Great post defender but struggles outside of it. Not much potential but a good role player.
