Re: Mops
I'm tired of being told to "...calm down, everything's gonna be great." I've only been following recruiting since about 2000, but every year we're told next year's gonna be our year to land the big recruits. I'm still waiting for that great recruiting year. I'm not saying there's not a few big fish out there still, but I'm not holding my breath on any of them. At this point we'd be lucky to have a recruiting class in the top 5 of the Pac-10 and that's concerning. To top it off, our biggest rival seems to be recruiting over their heads.

I'm sure he will score plenty on our defense.

Re: Mops
thanks duckgrad. That's my point. Please don't sit there and type a response saying that it's no big deal if you are the same guy that would have been jumping up and down excited had he signed with us. Compared to what we have signed at WR so far he's a prettty good get..................lol.

Re: Mops
we lost Crim because of our depth issues. Its not worth getting upset over a JC guy saying no thanks when your bringing in 2 good HS dbs anyways. If jackson and Glasper were not here I know for a fact Crim would be here.
Have we lost Leon yet? No. Do I think we do? Maybe, but I also think there is a better chance we get him then we lose him.
Phillip we might have given up on because we were tired of waiting as we only had one spot left and a few other guys out there. That said, do you really want to get worried about a player passing on us and that spot being our best spot of development over the last 5 years? OL has no need to worry, zero, nada, zilch, zippo.

Re: Mops
We do "so bad" at recruiting yet we rack up ten win season after ten win season, meanwhile the beevs greatest season's ever under Riley bring them to the Sun Bowl.
Point being, recruiting is great & I get just as excited & bummed out as you guys but at the same time, no matter how good or bad our recruiting has been we have had great success on the field. That's really all I'm trying to say. Now go ahead & vent guys, I'm not stopping you.

I agree MOPS. THe Phillip thing bothered me just from the stand point that he has the chance of being a good one. It's the Wheaton thing that really gets to me. We needed WR this recruiting season and seem to be missing on about everyone. Last year when we lost those three kids at the end everyone said don't worry about it we will make up for it next year........??? It's next year and we can't even sign a Wheaton? You have to admidt it doesn't look good.

We haven't been to a BCS game in awhile, so things could always get better. And we aren't racking up 10 win season after 10 win season.

'SC offered Wheaton and we were all on here saying he'd be a great get. All of sudden I am hearing that he isn't that good. Anyway, I am a little worried about Wheaton going to OSU. Oregon State seems to make good with guys like Morales and Hass that are no namers. It actually makes sense that recievers would look at Oregon State.

Re: Mops
Wheaton also would have been idolized by Oregon fans. I don't care if the wr coach is leaving, the team will still be the same. He wasn't a great coach anyway.

Re: Mops
Look, I am not saying losing Wheaton doesnt hurt. It does Hurt. Makes getting Gaines and Hall now very important. We might even have to stoop down to some lower tier guys. That said, it doesn't ruin our recruiting class. I am very much as upset as you guys are trust me. Wheaton was ours. Go back and read what I first said in this thread...

Re: Mops
MOPS. Didn't we go into this recruiting season needed DT and WR? My dissapointment isn't that we haven't signed good kids. That should be automatic with what we have to sell. I just feel like we missed a bit in these two areas. That being said it's not LOI day and I will take one of those pills (Chill Pills) and relax. I promise.............

Re: Mops
MOPS...........Do you know of any negative news coming out tomorrow morning about BOyd? That would sure suck. That being said I also know we are deep at QB and am not near as worried about that position as I am getting a few stud WR'S in this class. My biggest reason for wanting Boyd is I really believe it does help us with Brown. It doesn't guarantee us Brown but I do think it helps. IMO
