Top 5:
Penny is a star already...the turnovers are a concern, but he's putting up big across the board numbers.
Webber: Well rounded game, but shooting may be a concern, and he isn't putting up the scoring you'd like to see yet.
Mashburn: limited games and minutes, but numbers are pretty disappointing for 3rd pick
Bradley: He'll defend and rebound, don't ask for anything else, but elite shot blocking and solid rebounding has real value
Baker: 14/8 in 27 MPG... he is quietly performing nicely, have to see if he can make the next step, and also how much of his scoring is that someone has to score on bad teams
Rest of the Lottery:
Burrell jumps out... a lottery pick without a minute played, his potential is down to C, he looks like he might be the biggest bust in a while.
Murehsan blocking shots, doing okay elsewhere
Rogers rebounding well, putting up interesting percentages, but even as a top 3 option, not putting up many shots.
Cassell needs to find his handle
Hunter solid backup already
Cheaney lighting it up shooting but limited minutes
Mid 1st (15-22)
Van Exel is buried on a bad team for some reason, but showing some interesting small sample shooting
Harris showing some defensive potential, but a non-factor on offense.
Outlaw and Johnson showing decent bench big skills
Lot of guys just not playing McRae and Robinson under 20 total minutes for bad teams, Peplowski hasn't appeared (though he is on a contender)
Late 1st (23-29)
Russel looks like a defensive specialist,
Haskin a solid bench big or better already,
Whitney is buried deep on the bench on a bad team, LAL took shots on 2 PGs, and is playing neither
Marcelo is playing, but not doing much with the time
Mills looks like a solid bench player, but is playing starter minutes
Williams and Walters haven't played a minute.
Overall, Penny is a stud, there is some potential throughout, but this draft is a major step down from last year.
