Re: Rose Bowl Thread (UO vs tOSU)
The thing that blows me away is when people say it's so bad that Oregon got "blown away" by Boise St and Stanford, which means they're so much better than us. Yet they neglect to mention that they lost to USC and Purdue, both of who you could make the argument are worse than Boise St. (definitely!) and Stanford (debateable about USC, although Stanford beat USC.)woundedknees wrote:I think it's somewhat humorous that tOSU fans keep pointing to Oregon getting 'blown out' by BSU, as well as Stanford, as evidence that Oregon can't handle the pressure of a heavy running assault.
This completely ignores that Oregon put 40+ points on the board against the Furd, and held the Offensive machine known as the Broncos well under their season average.

Losing on the road by 11 to the #6 undefeated team in the country and on the road by 9 to a pretty good ranked team is getting blown out?

I think we can all agree that game felt like it was a much worse loss than 11 points. Whether that matters is debatable, but still, I felt like they were clearly the better team that day. Like, more than 11 points better.gofightingducks wrote:freedjr wrote:The thing that blows me away is when people say it's so bad that Oregon got "blown away" by Boise St and Stanford, which means they're so much better than us. Apparently not..That was the point separation...and that is the criteria by which this game is based...It really makes zero difference as to the total yardage, time of possession, etc...Its the final score that matters..Tray Dub wrote:I think we can all agree that game felt like it was a much worse loss than 11 points. lolz You would be saying the exact opposite if we had won that game by the same score... When we are playing great people complain that voters are not taking into account how well we are playing. But when we lose, all of a sudden it doesnt matter how well we were playing, just that the score was close.ducksrock wrote:

I think the observation there is that, had Boise State not made their own unforced mistakes, they probably would have beat us by more points.

I was watching the local news today and they were speculating on what the ducks would wear. They also showed a tOSU player giving the ducks props for their jerseys and said he's looking forward to see what we pull out for the Rose Bowl.duckgrad99 wrote:Any word yet on the uniforms the ducks are expected to wear?

^Ain't that a telling statement. Players, recruits and most fans like what we do uniform wise its just the traditionalists (old people) that have trouble with change that can't see the light!

Exactly! As long as the younger generation love our jerseys (and some older folk too haha), then that's all that matters.briarduck wrote:^Ain't that a telling statement. You dont have a clue what I would say under any circumstances...You may know what you would say, but you dont have a clue about what I might or might not say....Lets hope in a court of law that you are able to present more compelling evidence than mere statements of your opinion...
Or, maybe u r psychic or clairvoyant perhaps? rofl....

Re: Rose Bowl Thread (UO vs tOSU)
For some reason, I'm not as nervous for this game as I was for the regular season games. I really want a ducks win in this game, but just to be in the rose bowl is a priviledge. Winning or losing will not take away what this team accomplished this season.
