I've also noticed a lot of players who tweet out the email verification response stating their portal application was accepted. Might be the very reason so when they reach out to a place, they can let the staff know its okay to talk or reach out.Phalanx wrote:Great point, and could explain why some of these programs (like USC mentioned above) haven't been penalized so far.webfoots2001 wrote:Once a player submits their request to enter the transfer portal it can take up to 48 hours for their information to be uploaded to the transfer database. Re: 5* Edge-- Jordan Burch
South Carolina tried to keep him out of the portal with NIL money... He turned it down.
Doesn't mean he's tampered with. If a guy dislikes where he's currently playing, it's not unreasonable to suspect that money isn't the issue.
Watching the class Oregon is putting together has to be enticing in and of itself!
Remember, Nix is supposed to have a NIL valuation of less than $700,000... How much did SC offer?

Yes, that’s good info. Had no idea that’s how it worked. I still believe a lot of these kids are in communication with someone from the others schools and are being encouraged to enter the portal.Phalanx wrote:Great point, and could explain why some of these programs (like USC mentioned above) haven't been penalized so far.webfoots2001 wrote:Once a player submits their request to enter the transfer portal it can take up to 48 hours for their information to be uploaded to the transfer database. I’m going to guess most schools are careful to do it through a middle man.dthomas=ddixon wrote:Yes, that’s good info. Had no idea that’s how it worked. NIL valuations are all over the place. I saw Flowe having one around 300k for example.
I heard Nix's NIL deal was likely double the 700k valuation FYI. Travis Dye only got 50k last year from USC. Certain players (QB & Edge) will get a much larger share of the pot.

Based on the way things are trending for recruits, it certainly feels like Harbor is their only real shot at another HS guy. Robinson is either UGA or Texas, Pleasant sounds like a USC lean, and Jemari Johnson is likely sticking with his Louisville commitment. The positions they need addressing immediately are going to be handled through the portal. Burch and and S Evan Williams feel like they could be committing really soon.

That's too bad, would have really liked to have a cb with speed like Pleasant.greenyellow wrote:Based on the way things are trending for recruits, it certainly feels like Harbor is their only real shot at another HS guy. YES-- Should announce this week. 50/50 chance. Lots of schools want him.
I think the ducks are after Burch, Lucas, Williams and Nyckoles Harbor now. I don't believe any others at the moment. There needs to be a lot of attrition for them to make room for these, so expect some departures!
I think there is debate about whether Mateyo and Harbor play TE. If we land both, it will be fun to see how that pans out.

There are always more transfer after the season, as well as Spring ball. There's also a lot of ambiguity as to what their current head count is, as it's not a given that all guys transferring in are necessarily on scholarship. They could be using NIL to cover tuition for some of these guys.karlhungis wrote:How is this attrition supposed to happen?
