I often view a sampling of videos from opposing teams' fanalysts after a victory and I thought Michigan's were a lot better than Ohio State's. Ohio State guys were mostly in denial, blaming refs over and over, even the coach blamed the refs. Michigan guys are all conceding Oregon was better and they are just bummed that their team wasn't able to capitalize on the opportunities late in the game to narrow the margin. I feel for them; that penalty on the guy lining up over the long snapper was harsh and could have been prevented with a time out if their coaches had been more aware. Also, even though most of us have seen catches negated with the 'completing the catch 10 yards away from where the receiver caught it" rule before, it still hurts if it's your team and your guy caught the darn ball. I get it.

Obviously, it's easier to get introspective when the margin of loss is 3 touchdowns at home rather than one point on the road, but I found the Michigan talking heads more reasonable.

Somebody tell Stein there ARE plays you can run when the other team is blitzing. Hope Dez is back soon. Birch and Ferg, nice they are back but didn't seem to be all the way back. Any reason why Sadiq got NO looks after the second quarter? He looked like NOBODY could cover him. What is the deal with the 3rd quarter zombie act? Piss poor selection of plays on the first drive of Q3. Why does Gabriel seem to give up on plays sometimes instead of taking off and trying to make something out of a wasted play? Coaches only want him to run on designated QB draw or sweeps? Michigan has some really, really good Defensive Tackles who disrupted us a lot. Oregon is going to boat race Merryland. If ever there is a game on our schedule where our subs SHOULD see significant meaningful time on the field, it's this week. All in all, I thought we played pretty well and handled some adversity too. Michigan is still the National champs until a new king is crowned and they fought hard. For 108,000 people, they don't seem very loud.

I wonder if he was explaining to the other coach why he went for it on that last TD.

As "big balls Chip" always used to say, it's not my job to stop my offense. Lots of betting people were thrilled we scored that last TD. I thought it was fine. We ran the ball, and they didn't stop us. I recall them bragging after a game last year that they never threw a pass once in the second half of one game, because with their superior players they didn't have to.

Overall solid win. Our pass rush wasn’t its best. And credit Warren, he made some tough 3rd down completions in the 2nd half.

Our 2nd half offense has been an issues for a while but I usually chalked it up to us dominating in the 1st half and taking it easy in the 2nd.

In both games that were close we had great 3rd quarters. The 3rd quarter struggles all come in games that are already over. Michigan and their putrid offense posed no threat.

Oregon scored one offensive touchdown combined in the Idaho, Boise, and Ohio State games. Thankfully they also had a special teams score against Boise. Those were all close games.

This isn’t a “take it easy” with the lead thing. Even if that was the case it hurts the development of our future by not getting younger players reps.

I wasn’t including the Idaho game because it was sort of close but they had zero points and at halftime the game already felt over. We had done whatever we wanted on offense and were only limited by self-inflicted wounds.

Either way, you’re right, it’s just the tOSU game where we played well offensively in the 3rd quarter. Definitely an odd trend but the fact that we were ok in our biggest game makes me less worried.

I don’t mean to sound like a dick, I was over on Eleven Warriors during the Ducks/OSU game and thought to myself while reading that OregonFan4Life doesn’t have s*** on OSU fans when it comes to negativity. The difference IMO, usually your negativity only comes during the game, those peeps don’t stop, 24/7 negative comments, even during the offseason. Personally I don’t mind your input and respect your passion as a fan.

I also want to reiterate the praise for Holden. I’ve always loved his skillset but after this game, and hearing Gabriel’s post-game comments, I’m thrilled for him to bounce back like he did. Obviously if we lose Tez for an extended period it will be a real blow but a guy like Holden seeing a bigger role will be a lot of fun; he brings things to the field that none of our other WRs do. Also, it’s really nice having an elite WR coach that turns everyone he has into good players. Feels like we could go 3 deep without a significant drop off.

Overall, this was another dominant victory over a good team in a tough place to play. Hard not to continue to be thrilled about this team and where they’re headed.

To my knowledge, there is no beef between Oregon and Michigan, and I don't think the last-minute TD was beef-driven. I think Lanning had a reason for allowing the TD to happen at the end when at other times he would have them take a knee. I'm not asking if we are all fine with it, I am wondering what the reason was, and I noted that he took extra time in conversation with the Michigan coach during the post-game handshake and I thought it might be related, but maybe we will never know. It's not earth-shattering stuff, but just curious.

Lanning is trying to win a natty, not look good for a committee. UO is purposely running plays to keep the clock running in the 3rd quarter. Like it or hate it, the team is pretty healthy, and guys like James aren’t getting ran into the ground. JStew had multiple games under Chip with 30+ carries, and by the end of the year he was hurt. I get the complaint, but after we do it for like 6 of the last 7 games, maybe people would understand it’s by design. We are 9-0, and could still play another 8 games.
