My thoughts exactly. Three early trips to the red zone only netting a total of two field goals just ain't what you expect from the Ducks this year and gave the Badgers life that I don't think they otherwise would have had.OreDucks01284 wrote: Sun Nov 17, 2024 10:44 pm This game remind me alot like oregon vs cal game in 2010. I'll ask you all because I think I might be convincing myself of a narrative.

Good question Stevens- something I’ve wondered about but not sure I have come to a firm conclusionStevensTechU wrote:I'll ask you all because I think I might be convincing myself of a narrative.

I think there's a an argument to be made either way. With that said, the T-Ferg experience is a wild one. On one play, he'll trip and fall on a streak downfield that surely would've been a touchdown. And on the next, he'll come up with a MONEY catch on 4th and 9 with defenders draped all over him and falling down.StevensTechU wrote: Mon Nov 18, 2024 12:05 pm I'll ask you all because I think I might be convincing myself of a narrative.

I think this is what weighs the most for me. For a tight end, you value blocking and hands at the very top. Ferguson's consistency catching the ball would fit him nicely among the Herbert-era receivers.DmoneyDuck wrote: Mon Nov 18, 2024 1:00 pmI think there's a an argument to be made either way. Just sharing an observation from a friend who was at the game, he said on the play where Ferg tripped, from his vantage point it looked like there was a ‘seam’ on the turf.StevensTechU wrote:I think this is what weighs the most for me. I haven’t verified that this is true, but I saw that Oregon is apparently the first team ever in a power 5 conference to win 8 straight conference games without a bye, if that’s true that is really cool!

Right now T Ferg has regresses some. Is that because he's still having nagging injury problems? Sadiq is going to far surpass Ferg because of his athleticism and speed. Right now Stein isn't doing Sadiq any favors with the way he's using him. He's not a running back FFS! Use him in empty situations and he'll pretty much be on a linebacker (too slow) or a Safety (too small). We had him wide open for a score against Wisky but Gabriel got happy feet and took his first read for an incompletion.StevensTechU wrote: Mon Nov 18, 2024 1:03 pmI think this is what weighs the most for me. He's been inconsistent catching the ball and people saw this as early as the spring game when he added some extra bulk. That being said, he made the most important catch of the season so far with that 4th & 9 conversion so I can't dislike him too much.StevensTechU wrote: Mon Nov 18, 2024 1:03 pmI think this is what weighs the most for me. Same with Limar for saving us against Boise State. Do I think there are better players on the roster than those 2 guys? yes absolutely.

On Sadiq, Early in the year they were intent on getting him the ball in any method other than downfield passes. To me that had issues of either not catching the ball in practice or bad route running written all over it. Yet in the last few games though he hasn't caught all that many downfield he hasn't dropped any that have been thrown to him. So has he improved whatever they didn't like earlier or what?
Ferguson gets open. That is always a good starting point.

Early in training camp both Lanning and Stein talked about getting the TE's more involved. Part of it was for recruiting and I think that some of those early games where they were running what felt like way too many TE-centric routes were all apart of us trying to "showcase" our TEs.GrandpaDuck wrote: Tue Nov 19, 2024 1:53 pm On Sadiq, Early in the year they were intent on getting him the ball in any method other than downfield passes.
