Michigan State, with Bubba Smith, beat OSU, UM, and Penn State in 1966. But they are remembered for their game with Notre Dame.

Are we expecting a similar difference among those in the crowd rooting for PSU over those rooting for Oregon in Indianapolis as we were expecting if the opponent had been tOSU?

It will still probably be heavily tilted towards PSU, I would guess. It is more of a surprise, last second type deal for PSU fans, unlike tOSU and Oregon fans that have been expecting to be involved in this game for weeks, but that would still be my guess.

If Oregon eclipses 10k fans, I would be shocked. With tickets as cheap as $20, I've actually offered to buy tickets for friends and family who live within a few hours of Indy.

I just don’t see many Duck fans making it out. There’s just so many neutral site games in a short amount of time. I’d imagine fans, like myself, are prioritizing attending the more important playoff games.

In my time in school I knew quite a few Midwestern kids. Would be interesting to see how many alumni who live in the region might make some of these games + bandwagon fans.

Was gonna say, if you’re a duck fan say within a 3-4 hour drive, I’d totally make the day trip and pay $30 for a game ticket. Or even just stay one night somewhere.

Cheapest conference championship game ever. Ha.

Granted, I haven't watch much Penn State, pretty much ever. But they seem super average. Ohio State scares me to death, but Penn State reminds me of Arizona. Just a middling school. Not bad at all, but not great either.

Their front 7 is as good as basically anybody in the country. The interior defensive line isn't as good as Michigan's, but they have a game wrecker in Abdul Carter on the edge. Their weakness on defense is that, outside of one NFL safety, the rest of the DBs are perhaps a little average. So while I think your assessment is very appropriate of their offense, Oregon scoring 24+ on their defense is an achievement because it's better than Georgia's, Alabama's, and many others this season.
