They got Purdue'd with that schedule. Probably going to be Fickel's last season unless they really improve.

I actually like the way it plays out in that we get a decent opponent in Ok State to help us get game-ready and a road game in Chicago while PSU will play 3 patsies at home. Nevada is likely their toughest test in Week 1 so while it will still be a tough environment and team to play against, I think in some ways PSU's lack of decent opponent to prep against could be the difference for us. We were +2 in the TO margin and that was certainly the difference in the game too.
Sure. Just the more time to break in a new QB, the better.

But I will say, I have no idea the state of Penn State's roster going into 2025.

I like how the Ducks' bye weeks are interspersed and they should be easy to remember: first Saturday of October and first Saturday of November.

No Friday night games in the conference scheduled at this point, but apparently that could still happen (https://bigten.org/fb/article/blt9618f9390f7309b3/).

Other than the rival game at the end of the regular season, only repeat regular season conference opponent is Wisconsin.

Speaking of the PNW UW, they have a similar conference schedule to what the Ducks had this year, hosting tOSU and Illinois and traveling to Michigan, Wisconsin and UCLA. Its second bye week, like the Ducks', is also the first Saturday in November.

I feel like Oregon has a sneaky-tough schedule. When you're #1 like we are this year, it doesn't matter, but if you're a talented-but-flawed team (think of your 7-5 to 9-3 type of teams), you've got:

Montana State to open the season (currently 13-0 and ranked #1 in FCS, so it's no Portland State)
Rivalry game with OSU
Five Big Ten teams that finished .500 or better this season, with three on the road (@Rutgers, @Iowa, @uw, USC, and Minnesota)
Two playoff teams (@Penn State, Indiana)

So basically, your gimmes are Okie State (stinks this year but historically solid), @Northwestern, and Wisconsin (same comment as Okie St).

2024 had UCLA, Michigan State, Purdue, Maryland, and Wisconsin as gimmes.

The good news is that Tyler Warren is a senior this year.

Abdul Carter will almost assuredly declare for the draft too

I counted 19 seniors, no guesses on how many juniors declare for the draft.
