I know that there has been some hints at the uniform choice if it's not been officially announced yet, but I think it would be hilarious if Oregon came out with a OSU Kryptonite uniform. Essentially a green & yellow version of Michigan's uniform including the helmets...
Would at least be fun to photoshop it & get a meme circulating.

I think that it is standard wisdom to prioritize stopping the run, but Oregon seems to take the opposite approach. They get gashed for a couple of first downs, then someone makes a play and the other team gets knocked off schedule, and third down becomes a passing down. They always have a guy who can spy the QB and/or help on Smith. I'm not going to get disheartened if OSU moves the ball early. The WRs scare me a lot more than the RBs.

EPA and Metrics state it's far more important to stop the pass than rush on a per play basis and that's how the Mint Defense operates.73duck wrote: Tue Dec 24, 2024 11:31 am I think that it is standard wisdom to prioritize stopping the run, but Oregon seems to take the opposite approach. Making them kick FGs will be a win.

It is hard to get too excited about what Ohio State's D did to Tennessee.
Tennessee in their last 9 games had scored more than 28 points only in 3 games (Vandy 36, UTEP 56, and Miss State 33).
Also in Iamaleava's last 10 games, he only passed over 210 yards in 2 games (Vandy 257 and Kentucky 292).
With Sampson going down fast, it was a recipe for disaster for a team who already struggles to score against decent competition and can't get much going in the air.
Hoping Ohio State has a slight false confidence going into the Rose Bowl. Certainly though, Oregon will need to bring their A game.

Oregon won round 1 in much the same way that washington beat us in 2023 - they won the big moments. We could analyze the heck out of this, but I think it's going to again be a game of who wins on the big 3rd/4th downs. So much of that is the athletes, but so much of that is playcalling. Here's to hoping Stein and Lupoi are on their A game next week.

These OSU fans are definitely worth a listen for some quality analysis on Oregon. They've got quite the recent number of Oregon analysis videos that they've put up recently that I've just started to watch.

It’s not just the Ohio State fan base. The planet thinks Ohio state wins this next game and it’s not up for discussion mission. It’s disrespect and I hope our coach and players act accordingly.

Who needs this win more, Oregon or Ohio State? I personally say Ohio State, I feel like that program and Ryan Day have a lot more to lose than Lanning and Oregon. If the ducks lose it would really suck but a lot of people are optimistic about Oregon’s future. If Ohio State loses the fanbase will call for Ryan Day’s head on a platter again. As long as there is NIL with no cap Ohio State will be fine with their rich tradition and funds but in their minds if they lose this game their program is done fore.

Yeah count me in the group that says osu is fine regardless the outcome but we're in the midst of a statement season and need to finish the job for all the past teams, Phil, fans and alumni. It will show there's nothing fluky about us or this season in the Big.

I'll say Oregon too. The Ducks lose a lot of players from this team, including Gabriel. It's more realistic to see Ohio State pretty much where they are again next year over Oregon repeating as B1G champ & going undefeated.

Oregon for sure. Ohio State has been and and always will be towards the top of college. Even if Day gets fired, they'll just pick up where they left off. Oregon tasted success with Chip, watched it fall away when he left, and are just now getting back to the top. Wins and championships are much more important for Oregon at this point in time.

The winner of this game wins it all.
