Not to look too far ahead, but I wonder if Elijah Rushing will play any role next season if he continues to develop, I could see that happening with Rushing being Matayo’s backup and the guy to start that role in 2026.Duck07 wrote: Mon Dec 30, 2024 4:25 pmJust looking at Matayo, I almost wouldn't be surprised if he replaces Burch and that Purchase takes over his spot. Young Concrete ain't going to get any lighter as he gets older so if he's listed at 270 now, it wouldn't be shocking if he ended up at 280 by Week 1 next year. Will be something to watch in the Spring Game where exactly the coaches line him up.greenyellow wrote: Mon Dec 30, 2024 4:09 pm Smart move to have Purchase redshirt this year to help separate out the Edges they had.

Two full hours of Rose Bowl Media Day coverage from the Big Ten Network. It's great to have a conference that covers their teams so well.

Possible future scenario: Oregon beats Ohio St, goes on to win the natty. Will Stein takes offer for HC somewhere. Ohio St fires Day and Oregon hires Chip as OC (likelihood <1%)

I was thinking earlier that we're probably okay as far as retaining Stein and Tosh. Things can change of course but I imagine if there was a brand program to take a job at that school would have made the move.5$ wrote: Mon Dec 30, 2024 7:57 pm Possible future scenario: Oregon beats Ohio St, goes on to win the natty. Buckeyes probably know there isn't an ideal replacement that isn't a re-tread of sorts and that they need to ride with Day one more year at least

Some of the advanced metrics have had Oregon as the #1 offense all season. I don't buy that at all, but I would imagine Stein is going to get offers.Duck07 wrote: Mon Dec 30, 2024 8:15 pmI was thinking earlier that we're probably okay as far as retaining Stein and Tosh. After watching Chip for 5 years at Ucla and this year at OSU, why would anyone want Chip back as an OC?5$ wrote:Possible future scenario: Oregon beats Ohio St, goes on to win the natty. Will Stein takes offer for HC somewhere. Ohio St fires Day and Oregon hires Chip as OC (likelihood <1%)

Chip has not innovated since leaving Oregon. Not interested.OregonFan4Life wrote: Mon Dec 30, 2024 8:48 pmI personally do not want Chip back at all.5$ wrote: Mon Dec 30, 2024 7:57 pm Possible future scenario: Oregon beats Ohio St, goes on to win the natty. Seeing more rumors that a bunch of Oregon players are sick and have a flu, that would be typical Oregon luck if true.

Which rumors do you choose to believe? Were the sick during the Big Ten championship game or are they sick now? The likelihood of them being sick twice in a few week span is low.OregonFan4Life wrote: Tue Dec 31, 2024 11:39 am Seeing more rumors that a bunch of Oregon players are sick and have a flu, that would be typical Oregon luck if true.
Also the rumors of them being sick for the Rose Bowl started like 3-4 days ago. So a good chance everyone is on the tail-end of things or are even better by now.

I am just posting the rumors, who knows what is true. But there’s been enough sicknesses going around Eugene it’s believable to me. Plus often times where there’s smoke there’s fire. I have no idea what’s true or not true but I figured it’s worth posting on a forum.UOducksTK1 wrote: Tue Dec 31, 2024 12:17 pmWhich rumors do you choose to believe? That's fine, I was just asking which rumor you thought held more weight. Also for future reference, usually good idea to share the source of a rumor too.OregonFan4Life wrote: Tue Dec 31, 2024 12:21 pmI am just posting the rumors, who knows what is true.
