If the playoffs were done right, Oregon and Ohio State wouldn't have met until the championship game. They really need to fix how this BS "System" of theirs SUCKS! I know they will change it and it will be interesting to plug the teams from this year into the new system and see what might have been. Still pissed.

If you want to maintain any sense of meaning to the regular season, the playoff system should not have allowed Ohio State into a playoff.

Maybe the error is having 12 teams, I don't know. Regardless, you can't have a 2-loss team that loses to Michigan on the last week of the season be rewarded with a chance at winning it all.

Wins/losses in the regular season should matter, but they don't under this system. It's lame from a fan perspective. Those top 5 matchups in the regular season are now just....eh, cool. I guess they'll both make the playoffs still so who cares?

Another problem is the size of these conferences. I'm not even sure why we have conferences anymore from a competitive standpoint. It doesn't make sense from a non-moentary viewpoint.

Agree completely. In this format going undefeated, winning the CCG hurt Oregon, losing to Oregon and Michigan helped Ohio State. The same situation will exist next season, where seeds 5-9 have an advantageous road to the championship compared to 5-9. The idea of more fans being interested longer, and a L not eliminating a team early, has backfired.

The fact that fans are already talking about what losses they want for their team next season to take advantage of this awful playoff system shows how badly the old fools in suits ruined college football. If it wasn’t for my love for Oregon football I wouldn’t watch college football anymore, because the beauty of college football is completely gone. The good thing is ratings are going to drop and these stupid committees will be 100% to blame (though they’ll find someone else to blame like they always do) which hopefully forces real and good change.

With the NFL becoming what it is with the refs finding ways to give the Chiefs wins to appeal to the Swifties, it’s extra difficult to see college football being ruined before our eyes cause I don’t even enjoy the NFL entertainment league anymore. I just want good football!!!!!

It really wasn't "The Committee's" fault, the format was constructed by the commissioners who insisted on the Top 4 seeds and automatic byes, forcing Rece Davis to explain every week that the rankings don't represent the seeding. That's what created the ridiculous 3 week wait for No.1 Oregon and an opening game against No.8 Ohio State. Probably won't change next season, but will be different in '26, probably with 14 teams.

The people that came up with the seeding was also a “committee”, the other problem with college football is there are multiple committee. I should’ve clarified but I jokingly say “committee” because like I said, there are too many committees. But yes, the playoff committee technically did their job but they could’ve also been smarter about it, they used such weird criteria like not dropping teams who lost in their conference champ game when they could’ve dropped Penn State below Ohio State. They had the opportunity to be “smart” with how they used their criteria and chose to create rankings that created a very flawed bracket.
