Take a wild guess which option means I don't go to Autzen?
Whereas they could do it a weekend after and also celebrate the newly drafted players.

Quite a few schools either cancelling Spring games outright or drastically changing the format. Risk of injury, poaching, etc.
How much longer does Oregon stick with a game? Do you want to see them continue as is, change format, or gone altogether?

The wear and tear argument for spring game is odd to me, because don't they do full contact scrimmages in the spring anyway?
Spring game is really for fans and freshmen. And the shortened formats have taken away a lot of the risk. Spring game is a good vibe, so I hope Oregon sees the value in it.

It feels the majority of it is to avoid creating "depth charts" and guys leaving post spring because of it. Without the game it can just be a spring of practices and no delineation.bellsduck wrote: Tue Feb 25, 2025 10:09 am Quite a few schools either cancelling Spring games outright or drastically changing the format. That actually feels like a reason to keep doing it just to make sure the players that are afraid of competition don't stick around.

If I made all the decisions, the spring game would be an exhibition against an FCS team.bellsduck wrote: Tue Feb 25, 2025 10:09 am Quite a few schools either cancelling Spring games outright or drastically changing the format. Risk of injury, poaching, etc.

This may be why, but you gotta imagine from reps and internal scrimmage standpoint, players probably start to realize where they are on the depth chart.pudgejeff wrote: Wed Feb 26, 2025 1:46 amIt feels the majority of it is to avoid creating "depth charts" and guys leaving post spring because of it.
