Re: Blazers
The last time the Blazers were contenders was 2000 when they almost beat the Lakers to make the finals. In that series, the refs made sure to foul Sabonis and Pippen out and Portland was forced to put 6'6'' Brian Grant on Shaq.
This time, we will be ready. Try fouling out five centers, Refs. CHECKMATE.

Re: Blazers
Gotta give him credit for the Advija move, but one out of how many sh*tty moves he has made are awful. Again, we don’t know who is pulling the strings. That f*ckwad Kolde still probably has his hand in major moves to ‘protect’ the Allen families interest. Especially since they are in a selling stance. Ultimately don’t see how their moves have made any impact on the teams value. Didn’t the Timberwolves just sell for a little over $1.5B? How is this team worth that?StevensTechU wrote: Wed Jun 25, 2025 8:13 pm Taking a guy who is neither a good fit nor has good trade value is really a Cronin move.

I think the plan seems like Ayton-Clingan this year and Clingan-Yang going forward.greenyellow wrote: Wed Jun 25, 2025 8:06 pmMost fans on X have their pitchforks out for Cronin tonight. It makes no sense to take another center after drafting Clingan last year. It's like they have no clue which one will hit and are just hedging their bets one of them turns out to be a starter-level center soon.Everythingsducky wrote: Wed Jun 25, 2025 7:50 pm Can’t wait to hear the Cronin spin presser on his rationalization of the Blazers draft to the media, if no other moves are made. Assuming it will be cringe-worthy.
Everyone wants the team to trade Ayton and RW so that leaves you pretty bare all of a sudden. Klebbe and Knecht from the Lakers for RW3 fits salary wise so I think there are other moves likely to happen that bring other balance (like more shooting) to the roster.

Re: Blazers
So my understanding is that only a portion of the team was sold for 1.5B in the case of Minnesota but not enough for a controlling interest.Everythingsducky wrote: Wed Jun 25, 2025 8:30 pmGotta give him credit for the Advija move, but one out of how many sh*tty moves he has made are awful. Guilty for not doing further research. The actual valuation is shown here, including the Lynx: https://apnews.com/article/timberwolves ... 198ae908d3. Basically a 50% interest in both clubs. Not sure of the stadium situation, as compared to Moda (ridiculous some say we need a new arena), and the T-Wolves having a true superstar, and much better upside (possibly arguable) and a TV draw difference that is negligible. I don’t see the Blazers worth more. Who knows.Duck07 wrote: Wed Jun 25, 2025 8:32 pmSo my understanding is that only a portion of the team was sold for 1.5B in the case of Minnesota but not enough for a controlling interest.Everythingsducky wrote: Wed Jun 25, 2025 8:30 pmGotta give him credit for the Advija move, but one out of how many sh*tty moves he has made are awful. Re: Blazers
Is Cronin trying to actively drive down the value of the blazers? His trade and draft the last 2 days, have been headaching to say the least.

Price was also set 5 years ago, they’re worth more than double that now.Everythingsducky wrote: Wed Jun 25, 2025 8:47 pmGuilty for not doing further research. Re: Blazers
Cronin said he has been scouting Yang for two years and was hoping he would be in the draft last year. So maybe that is why they felt okay about having a winning record the second half of the season- they were always going with the Chinese kid.pezsez1 wrote: Wed Jun 25, 2025 6:00 pm Sucks knowing we could have had Bailey with a top 5 pick. Ugh. Well at least we had those good vibes.
It's all part of the master plan. Cronin is playing 4D chess here while we are all playing checkers.

Couldn’t find any rating newer than this NBC valuation. Obviously going to be different now for a few teams, but probably on par for most. PDX at about $3.65B and Minnie $400M less. Again, after this post season, the gap will probably have tightened when more recent valuations come forth.

This pick could definitely be what gets Cronin fired or re-hired once the new ownership arrives. It's all part of the master plan. Cronin is playing 4D chess here while we are all playing checkers.
Willie Taggart is a dick.

Let’s be honest. He’s fired either way. They will want their own guy.pezsez1 wrote: Wed Jun 25, 2025 10:50 pmThis pick could definitely be what gets Cronin fired or re-hired once the new ownership arrives. It's all part of the master plan. Re: Blazers
So after watching film what specifically does everyone not like about the guy? Or is it that your preconceived notions that were based upon some "analysts" mock draft rankings the primary reason? Or is it because Cronin didn't make a mythical trade that you would have?
