Appreciate all of these perspectives! Can't believe we're only a week away.

Re: the receivers, my hope is maybe Dante sees the field a bit better than DG and has a better deep ball than Nix. Maybe that could be enough to make our passing game more dynamic without a proven home run threat like Tez or Stewart.

Our passing game might also be a bit better if our O line cuts out some of the issues that plagued it last season.

Love how these videos focus on seemingly unrelated stories about up-and-coming players and lesser-known staff members but then manage to tie them into the major theme/storyline for the week.

Sione's story is such a good reminder of why NIL is a good thing. There are perhaps some adjustments to structure that are warranted (contracts, transparency, etc.) but Sione will probably make in the neighborhood of $50k-100k per year in college and even if he doesn't get to the NFL, he'll graduate with some cash in the bank to go with his degree instead of a bunch of debt.

I feel like a horrid human for saying this, because I adore everything about the man and would run through a wall right now for him. but I am getting gettng concerned about our man Dan.

He has gained some serious LBs, and I am not talking about DJack, Bryce, Nix or KMothudi.

I don't want to see the guy become like Kirby, Chip or Bielema.

If I adopted a pet or had another child right now I would name them Lanning and I am considering tattooing the mans facial portrait across my back, so this isn't an attempt at shade or body shaming. Just something I've noticed.

I've been holding onto this for a few days, but I got a little intel from practice.

*Take this with a grain of salt, it was from one practice. Who knows how they shift day to day.

Dante is the clear number 1. No real surprise there. The main WR rotation seems to be Moore, McClellan, Lowe, and Bryant Jr. Whittington is RB1 right now. The young RBs (Dink, Hill, Davison) may get more run than we think. Not sure if they're taking carries from Hughes, or if there are some legs that he isn't progressing as fast.

The bigger surprise was on defense. During the team periods, the number 1 CBs were BOTH Finney and Offord. It felt like the question was always "who is going to start opposite of Ify?" Starting 2 true freshman would not have been my guess.

Again, this is from one practice. It could mean nothing. I found it intriguing though.

The constant Zym use is what actually worries me based on the things I've read about the over-consumption of those products etc. I really like how at the Coaches Retreat we saw them talk about using the right language with players (protect the ball vs don't fumble) so I hope they also look inwards to take care of themselves too when dealing with the stresses of coaching CFB.

Interesting about the CB’s, I have heard outside of this forum that Finney is amazing and expected to start, didn’t know about Offord though if that’s true, but also wouldn’t be terrible surprised those two guys are great.

What’s crazy is we have Benjamin coming in next year. But listening to Barner, he thinks he will end up at Safety rather than CB.

So it could be not true at all, but I heard from someone at Church who claims to have connections that while Finney and Offord have been great and better than expected, as of right now Ify is CB1.

Can be the fastest, longest player in the room, but a blown assignment when the opposing OC is giving you eye candy is still a touchdown. By the end of the season, that's a different story. I'm super curious to see how it all will go and if we can generate some turnovers at the cornerback position.

True statement. As of right now the depth chart seems to be a R-Fr Iffy, with any of 2 true Fr and a JC transfer who didn’t play much last year. Really hope that at some point Florence can work his way back to full strength. His experience would help greatly. But anyway you look at it, CB might be as talent as we have ever had here. And UO has had a lot of good CB, but all 5 guys we have right now have the talent (if they stay healthy) to be day 2 and even day 1 draft picks.

What makes me happy/excited is that I think Sione and Theran are both guys who are honorable mention all conference players or better based on what we've seen of them. So that's the floor.

Very true. We've had some elite CBs through the years, who were routinely abused and burned during their first year on the field.

Florence was showing some really promise, before all his injuries. Hope to see him fully recovered and up to full strength this season.
