I hate to be the guy who tries to assess 'vibe' here, but Lanning, Sadiq, and Boettcher all seem... flat.

Sadiq always comes off as flat. And Lanning has to deal with James every press conference.

To be honest, Lanning's approach to Crepea is bordering on childish, IMO. I love virtually everything Lanning brings to the program except that and wish he'd give fans/media a bit more access so we can have more reason to get excited.UOducksTK1 wrote: Wed Aug 27, 2025 9:20 am Sadiq always comes off as flat. Sure, he could be worse though too.StevensTechU wrote: Wed Aug 27, 2025 9:37 amTo be honest, Lanning's approach to Crepea is bordering on childish, IMO. If we need closed practices and a slightly aloof coach at times (which I would argue is very rare) to get us a championship, then so be it.

Ha, I wouldn't describe him as aloof. He seems incredibly intentional about virtually everything he does. Mark Helfrich was aloof, haha.UOducksTK1 wrote: Wed Aug 27, 2025 9:42 amSure, he could be worse though too.StevensTechU wrote: Wed Aug 27, 2025 9:37 amTo be honest, Lanning's approach to Crepea is bordering on childish, IMO. Again, I love virtually everything he brings. Just two nits (Crepea grudge and overly secretive). The latter is basically the norm nowadays, and my list of issues with other coaches is a much bigger list.

What is it that sets Lanning off re Crepea? I completely understood why Belloti and Kelly couldn't stand Canzano, but Crepea seems like an OK guy.

Crepea asks long-winded questions and tries too hard to sound like one of the coaches. Sometimes I hear his questions and just face-palm as he goes on and on, but in fairness, it's not a ton worse than the opposite end where the people running the fanboy media sites ask clueless or fluff questions that have zero meaning. Lanning also gets perturbed by what he feels are invasive questions, when half the time they really aren't (who is standing out, what weaknesses are you trying to improve upon, etc.).73duck wrote: Wed Aug 27, 2025 1:33 pm What is it that sets Lanning off re Crepea? Cristobal also hated Crepea, but rather than look annoyed, he looked like he was going to blow his lid* every time. < Yikes

Oregon is going yellow/green/yellow with new yellow helmets that now include green wings on them:

Rooting for a Gary Bryant Jr. breakout.
re: Crepea, I know a lot of people get annoyed at him because of his long as "questions."...but how soon people forget Clownzano. The majority of the other questions are fairly bland so it provides some comic relief when Tosh or Dillon Gabriel give Crepea $*t. As beat reporters go, he's really not bad compared to the scummy dudes and mega homers out there. I'd take him over somebody like Softy actively cheering for the team and cheering other teams' injuries.

I like that Crepea does his ( albeit long-winded) job as a reporter to ask questions.
And I like that Lanning does his best to not answer them directly.
