Makhi Hughes to redshirt remainder of season
To no surprise, RB Makhi Hughes has been granted his request to redshirt the remainder of the season. Wouldn't be shocking to see him transfer after the season as he likely isn't moving up past Hill and Davison.

I’m concerned about losing Offord if Hughes goes. I think he is going to be an elite player for us. But they both need to do what is best for them and their future.

Hoping Offord has built enough of his own brand here by season’s end that he’s beyond that “chasing big bro” phase of life.bdkipe wrote: Wed Oct 01, 2025 11:27 am I’m concerned about losing Offord if Hughes goes. If his issue really is learning the playbook, maybe he'll choose to stay and learn it. I can't imagine transferring to another school, to learn a while new playbook, is going to help him any

Ultimately, he will either (perhaps both) go to the highest bidder or go to the team that maximizes his draft stock. If I was in his camp, I'd probably encourage him to go back to Tulane. While I would welcome a rotation of Hill, Hughes, and Davison next season, I don't think Hughes will get enough touches to put his draft stock where he'd like it to be.squintsdd wrote: Wed Oct 01, 2025 12:16 pm If his issue really is learning the playbook, maybe he'll choose to stay and learn it. Truth be told I’d rather keep Dink than Hughes. But that’s personal preference. They are both awesomw backs with tons of talent. It’s an embarrassment of riches.

Going back to Tulane is really the only thing that makes sense, or a place like Boise State, a school that likes to run and might be running back needyStevensTechU wrote: Wed Oct 01, 2025 12:19 pmUltimately, he will either (perhaps both) go to the highest bidder or go to the team that maximizes his draft stock.
