Free Daylen Austin
God Bless the Oregon judicial system. Only in this goofy state can a young person:
- get threatened with a hammer by a violent, crazed addict with a miles-long rap sheet of violent crimes throughout his life…
- …and get charged for not helping the guy who just was violently threatening him…
-…after said guy jumps in front of the car to threaten the kid some more.
Let’s go ahead and try to completely destroy the kid’s life before it starts in “defense” of someone who demonstrated time and time again through their actions that they placed no value on the lives of others.
I love my Ducks always & forever but I am glad I moved to Arizona.

Yup. Oregon politics is disgusting. Daylen's actions were entirely justified.
A drugged out lunatic charging you with a melee weapon is a significant threat that makes lethal force entirely reasonable.

Oregon politicians basically want to be California, my life is established in Oregon but my wife and I still sometimes talk about moving out of Oregon. Lucky the area we live in is safe and full of boring old people. But yeah, the situation with Austin is incredibly dumb and reflective of Oregon politics.

I don't mean any offense to any of you, but talk about a win-win. My least favorite things about Oregon are people that complain about the political process and that I think there are too many people that live here.

No offense taken, you’re allowed to have your political opinion, I personally don’t want to see either party have a stranglehold on a state the way the Democrats do in Oregon or Republicans do in some southern states, it’s not good for a state.StevensTechU wrote: Sat Oct 18, 2025 6:25 pm I don't mean any offense to any of you, but talk about a win-win. You can have your opinions and guess what? Just like our head coach said, We still love you. That’s what makes freedom great. Oregon will forever be my home , where I was raised and it’s where my baby (my daughter) lives and I will always love it deeply. But for my own personal needs, the time was right to leave. That’s just what was best for my own situation.
So take your win-win, and you can have less people surrounding you while you moan about how awful the offensive line is.

I have lived in Oregon for over 60 years, myself family lives here , my grandkids live here, I will stay and fight for the Oregon I use to know. On a side note I watched the Florida governor speaking on TV, he was saying in Florida if protesters block your car and you have fear for your safety it is legal to run them over…. MOGA ( make Oregon great again), Free Daylen, Go Ducks!

Re: Free Daylen Austin
Oregon has been dragged down by all the Californians moving in. Not because of what Oregonians have done. Wish they would all move onto a new state. Not even political, but people don’t realize when the population was a million less people, the state produced twice as many Football and Basketsbbl D1 athletes. Why has that dropped off so severely? There are no more Castles, Cotas, Brandon’s or even Swancutts or all the other NFL guys who came through.the last great class for basketball was the year before Dana took over as HC, and none of them came to UO. If I remember right in the late 90s-2000s, Oregon also produced the most MLB picks per capita.

I grew up in Hillsboro, went to Hilhi, ended up joining the Marine Corps and left in 92', but that was when it started. If anyone is familiar with the area Californians were selling very average homes for 1.5mil and moving to the Jackson School area (Glenco High School district) and purchasing 3x the house for about half that. Think at the time those houses were going for about $350k so they were killin it on the deal. Unfortunately, they brought their politics and votes with them and starting voting for the same policies that made them leave California. I seriously thought, around 2008, I wanted to move my kids and family back to Hillsboro (Currently live in Alabama) but because of the politics the homes in the area were crazy expensive so I kept my family here. Still love Oregon and miss it, but it's full of crazy people now.

The "no politics unless it's the politics I like" crowd stays undefeated. This thread is definitely about ducks football.
