Iowa's 4th and 3 conversion on their last drive...re-watch it and watch what happens to Tuioti. Guy is held for long it could have qualified for a rodeo ride.bdkipe wrote: Sun Nov 09, 2025 10:06 am All the errors I can think of. The thing about these is that individually mistakes happen and officials are human. However, EACH penalty called against Oregon resulted in either a momentum kill of a promising Oregon drive or an extension of an Iowa scoring drive where we had them stopped and going nowhere.
- EVERY single stretch play multiple Oregon linemen would cross the face and have the edge/contain only to be "magically" unable to pursue (as our man Pez correctly pointed out...and Pez is not one to gripe about officials unless it is beyond egregious)
- OPI on McClellan - He was simply getting out of his break and the DB was chucking him to keep him from the break, there was no shove
- DPI on Ify. Did Ify touch him or hinder him? No. Was the ball catchable? Gronowski was just throwing it awy
- Blatant pick on Iowa TD
- 2x Iowa let playclock get to 0
- "Hands to the face" on (Was it Bear?). It was a handful of jersey. Should have picked up the flag.
- Gronowski's lame "jump pass" should have been intentional grounding
- Final Oregon pass play to Benson, Iowa DB just got toasted and sacrificed a waist grab to a surefire TD and even looked at the official to bail him out with the flag...nothing (dude probable exhaled, I thought he was toast and Benson had that even with the non-called PI)
I seem to remember a very questionable hold call on us that negated a big play. I could be wrong though...
Feel free to point out anything I missed. It's good to be griping about this after a W.

I was on the opposite side of the field so sadly no! However, we were like 10 rows up from the players when they ran up to fans. Lots of trash / beers being tossed over my head.ducks5ever wrote: Sun Nov 09, 2025 12:53 pmWere you able to greet Coach Lanning and the players? But what a game! Freezing cold and wet but well worth the trip. Gutsy win for Oregon!!!
I do like that the players and coaches come talk to the fans. At the Arizona state game, Bo Nix high fived me. Always fun to get to be near the team.

Iowa notes:
-Very friendly people in Cedar Rapids. Spent a couple days there and we were surprised by how much people wanted to chat!
-Gameday atmosphere, parking/walking/shuttling to game… people were mostly friendly and a lot asked if we came all the way from Oregon. Many were shocked/impressed. Once we got into the stadium, there was your more mixture of hostile fans saying F U or gently shoulder checking me in the concourse, VS friendly fans having some cordial dialogue.
-Worst concourse on earth. 0 ability to walk at halftime. If you wanna pee or get food, you will 100% miss about 5 minutes in the third quarter. It was the most cramped concourse in any sport I’ve ever been to.
-Stadium holds 70k but doesn’t really feel bigger than Autzen. Not a bad looking stadium just didnt seem as big!
-You are very close to the field on one of the sidelines. During warmups, we went to the first row and we were like 6 feet from some of our positional group warm ups. Got to have small talk with Flowers, Thieneman, etc.
-Insanely wet. Basically rained the entire game, 2nd half was lighter. After halftime, the wind and windchill kicked in. That + being wet made it brutal in the 2nd half. Obviously impacted the game. (And perhaps crowd noise levels)
-The wave! Super cool and sweet. Puts life back in perspective, when we’re just watching a silly football game.
-Crowd involvement / Noise: It was loud but I could hear myself/others talking 99% of the time. Similar to a solid game at Wazzu I’d say. I do think the rain and cold probably brought the noise level down. In our section 10 rows up, there were few people making noise around us on a regular basis. But I can see with better weather + a night game, Kinnick exploding. Overall, 6/10 for noise levels. I’d say slightly didn’t meet expectations. I was hoping for 7-8 out of 10.
-After the game / after our players rushed to our end, Iowa fans got out of control. They were threatening to fight other ducks fans next to us. They were talking so much snack and telling us how overrated we are. And how Ohio State will murder us. It was so weird ha!! I think the way they lost on game winning FG and how our players rushed over really sent them over the hill. Once we got to concourse and left the stadium, then fans were great again.
Overall.. Would I ever go back to Iowa again? Probably not. Unless a game has potential to be a top 15 matchup. But it was fun to go once! And as it goes for UO vs Iowa, I couldn’t have asked for a better game to attend (minus the weather lol).

From your perspective, did the players rush over to taunt Iowa fans or to cheer with Duck fans?

There is "Late 80's Early 90's The U" level of taunting other fans...and then there is what our kids have done in Happy Valley and Iowa City.
(I worship everything about Dwayne Johnson and hell, even he chased the SDSU mascot into the stands once during a brawl when he was at The U)
For our kids it seems more like a (typical 17-23yr old young male) emotional release after being $h!t-talked the entire game by 70k and hearing for 2 weeks from the national media how Iowa was going to bully them into submission. I guarantee Lanning played Herbstreit's comments to the team in meetings on Friday night.
Our Pro-Grum has really only taken our post-game extracurricular activities to an awful level ONE infamous time in my lifetime and if not for Scott Frost being an absolute unit of a man-beast that incident likely would have ended in tragedy.

100% to taunt. Most Ducks fans were in sections 101/102. And then there were some Ducks fans in 103-110 near our sideline. After the taunting, they went to the fans near 107-110 to thank them.pezsez1 wrote: Mon Nov 10, 2025 4:22 am From your perspective, did the players rush over to taunt Iowa fans or to cheer with Duck fans?
We were in section 130.

I actually did post some notes about it. Look up a few posts more, and let me know what you think or if you have any other questions about my experience!
I would say just folks in general in Cedar Rapids were so friendly and conversational. And we went to Maquoketa Caves State Park and thought it was awesome.

Thanks for the great insight on your experiences at the game. My first thought after watching the video of trash being thrown at Duck players. it was completely taunting Iowa fans and they should’ve been happy they weren’t at Arizona dodging full water bottles or batteries. I love this team and coach but the players asked for it, no need to taunt.UOducksTK1 wrote: Mon Nov 10, 2025 1:57 pm I actually did post some notes about it. Yeah, Iowa fans were pretty tame most the game except an idiot here or there, so no need for our players to taunt. Though, Penn State I didn't mind.

Zero justification for throwing items at the players. That is bush league and nearly criminal conduct.
At the same time, duck players need to take the high road and celebrate instead of taunting.

While I’m not a fan of it, I understood taunting the student section after the Penn State win, but for Iowa, just felt like they did it to do it again, it didn’t make sense to me.
