Naw, you sell Pete on the fact that he comes here and he'll be the HC at his choice of schools in the future far faster than if he goes to USC.alxtw wrote: Fri Dec 19, 2025 8:45 pm Pete K would definitely be an upgrade over Tosh. But how would he compare vs Hampton. In the fairy tale scenario Pete K comes here, we'd probably lose Hampton.
Also, Lanning is likely heavily involved and runs the defense according to his philosophies. I guessing a top DC, such as Pete K, probably would like to go to a school where he has full reign of the defense and the HC is a offense guy. (Praying Lynn stays at USC another year or two)

Kenny Dillingham signs a 5-year extension with ASU. Thanks, Michigan, good luck with that coaching search.

Washington better get ready for their own coaching search.Phalanx wrote:Kenny Dillingham signs a 5-year extension with ASU. Thanks, Michigan, good luck with that coaching search.

As much as I might want it to happen, based on what I'm reading I don't think Michigan is going to get Fisch.UofDuck wrote: Sat Dec 20, 2025 11:28 amWashington better get ready for their own coaching search.Phalanx wrote:Kenny Dillingham signs a 5-year extension with ASU. I’ve always heard he has no interest in being a HC.i think he’s in his late 50s now, so his window is definitely closingDuck07 wrote: Fri Dec 19, 2025 10:04 pmNaw, you sell Pete on the fact that he comes here and he'll be the HC at his choice of schools in the future far faster than if he goes to USC.alxtw wrote: Fri Dec 19, 2025 8:45 pm Pete K would definitely be an upgrade over Tosh. Would be interesting to see if Dan decides to pull from the NFL coaching ranks for this hire.buckmarkduck wrote: Mon Dec 22, 2025 7:38 pm

I'll continue to throw out former Duck Matthew Harper as a ST coach from his experience in the NFL and he just got resigned part-time by the Rams.
James Finley got hired on in Corvallis and its always nice to keep tabs on the Oregon players to coaches and seeing who can finally surpass the legacy of John Madden!

“Thamel said on Wednesday's episode of Get Up that Whittingham, Missouri's Eli Drinkwitz and Washington's Jedd Fisch were all on Michigan's radar as "gettable coaches" for the program.”
Jedd is still a consideration.

Lots of articles today about them going after Whittingham. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.
With Fisch, I worry that if they lose 2 coaches in a row like we did that they will strike gold on someone similar to how we did with Lanning.

Certainly looking like Michigan will hire Whittingham. That could be scary. Ducks host Wolverines next season.

Yeah I don’t love that. Thankfully he’s getting a bit older so hopefully we won’t have to deal with him too much before retirementGreenblood wrote: Fri Dec 26, 2025 11:09 am Certainly looking like Michigan will hire Whittingham. That could be scary. Ducks host Wolverines next season.

Latest reporting makes it appear that it's more likely than not that D'Anton Lynn goes to Penn State.
Update: NYT and LA Times both are now reporting it as done.

I wonder if PK has the awareness to recognize that working for Riley is damn near identical to working for Sark, and that he should wait for a better situation to arise.

Re: Coaching Hot Seat
Jerry Neuheisel going to Northwestern to be the QB coach. Makes sense with the Chip connection and, again, I don't see Jerry going from LA to Pullman or Tuscaloosa or somewhere else. Chicago checks out.
