Yeah they’re just plain lost. This offensive strategy is a joke. It’s like they still have no idea what their strengths and weaknesses are and are just guessing at what might work.
The fact they are still rotating different OL combos out there this far into the season just shows they don’t know how to analyze the talent they have.

That trick play for a loss says it all. When they try to be creative it doesn’t work at all.

Please leave Drew in Illinois. He has to be the worst OC in all of college football.

3rd and long screen pass for nothing. Here comes the 4th quarter and a long clock killing drive by Illinois if the trajectory holds true to form.

So we’re moving easily down the field with conventional plays then we roll out a ridiculous formation, lose yards which puts us in 2nd and 3rd and long. Drive over.

This is an offensive staff actively undermining their players with utter incompetence. Mehringer needs to be fired today.

Leave Raiola with him. These are D+ footballers.

All season the OL is not fast or skilled enough to get out and block on a screen.

We throw behind the first down marker so often it is crazy.

Dan needs to find a new QB from the portal this offseason. Dylan is certainly not the answer. Oh, maybe find some O-linemen while you are at it.

Same complaints I had with Stein, this just looks worse. These coaches don't give winning efforts. That weird ass attempted trick play was pure garbage and wasn't possibly any coach's best effort.

This is just horrendous playcalling from Mehringer. He kills the momentum of drives better than any defense could.

Raiola is a backup, he hasn’t been perfect, but he isn’t calling the plays, I can’t blame him for this performance.

Our offensive coaching literally has a negative effect. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen anything like this.

That was cool how on third down Illinois threw the ball to the guy on the other side of the yellow line. They didn't even get to fourth down!
