My name is Matt, I'm 32 and living in San Diego. I graduated from the U of Oregon in 99 with a psych degree. I started hearing about Oregon and the ducks following the 94 rose bowl. Some of my other favorite teams include the Padres, Chargers, Lakers and Los Angeles Kings. I would love to move back to the pacific northwest.

Re: Introduce yourself thread
My name is Ray and I’m from Vancouver BC Canada and currently live in Portland OR, I’m 40 and married for 10 years with three kids (Maddie 6, Lydia 5 and Hudson 3). Born and raised in BC, I had no idea the Ducks and any other team outside of the major schools existed especially UW and ND…in BC all we get outside of local Canadian broadcasting is Seattle Stations (UW) and NBC/ABC/CBS/Fox (ND), CFB is not part of our culture but my older brother was an elite athlete/Olympic Javelin thrower who went to UW on Scholarship (Football and Track) and that was my first real introduction to CFB. Those were dark days…(lol) luckily for me UW (and Miami, my other favorite team) were on top of the FB world then, cheating their way through the 80’s…the bastards!
My Dad purchased a company in Eugene in 1989 and in 1991 he asked me to move down to help out, shortly thereafter I became a fan of CFB and the Ducks and in 1992-3 I became the die-hard fan I am today. I was in Eugene for 8 years before moving back to Vancouver in 1998, got married in Bend OR before moving with my wife (Duck grad in 94) to Los Angeles CA (I am a Realtor) and we enjoyed taunting Bruin and SC fans everywhere possible
…and also noticed we were becoming respected over that time! Moved back to (Portland) Oregon in 2007-8 so my wife can teach at PSU and have been loving being back ever since.
My Favorite sports are, in order… CFB, Hockey, NFL, NBA, MMA and many more.
My favorite teams are Ducks, Canucks, Blazers, Lakers, Cavs, NFL (no team currently…ex Raider fan) and Blue Jays/Mainers but I could really care less about Baseball until the playoffs.
As always GO DUCKS!!

Re: Introduce yourself thread
I graduated from Oregon in 2001. I moved to Portland for a job and lived there for 5 years until being transferred to Spokane. I have an 8 month old son and was laid off six months ago (bad timing)
. I would move back to Portland but my wife has a good job here so we are sticking it out until I can find work again. I started watching Duck football in 1999, my freshman year at Oregon. I was always a college football fan but didn't have any exposure to the Ducks where I grew up in Texas. I moved away from the heat to Oregon where I had family living. Being a football fan, I chose my college based on who had the better football and academic programs. OSU lost out in both. My love for the Ducks has grown every year since.

There are those who will remember something much like this from the rim of Autzen Stadium, shortly after Kenny Wheaton's leap into history...
Amazing what my lungs could do 16 years ago!
My step-dad hated the Ducks with a passion... He played defensive line for the Beavs just before the start of WW2.
I got started going to Duck games with his boss, who was one of the original donors who helped put the money together for Autzen.
I have been married to my best friend from HS for 35 years, and counting.
She loves my Ducks, too!

You two are like abused wives who still love their husband because "nobody else knows who he is deep inside".UOducksTK1 wrote:I still love Brett too, but I can't stand him whenever the pack play against him.mdm0302 wrote:my name is michael marshall and im 19. i am attending lane c.c. staring this spring. i first started watching the ducks the year joey won the fiesta bowl. ducks became religious to me kellen's junior year.. also love basketball religiously but never played in H.S. OK, i'm Laurie and i'm 54 but dont feel a day over 38!!
i live in PDX......unfortunately, i was "downsized" and am desperately looking for work!!
so....a man i used to date, a UO alum, season ticket holder and DAF donor, took me to my first Duck game, Utah State, sept. 6th, 2008....I. FELL. IN. LOVE.!!!!!! we no longer date but are still GREAT friends...ever since that day, i live, eat, drink and breathe all things Duck!!! actually becoming pretty geeky, with all the sports news articles, message boards, mass quantities of Duck gear, recruiting stuff, keeping up on all the player stats...he and i actually go down a few times during the spring and fall to watch practice!! anyway, he and i have gone to almost every home game since, and if he takes someone else, i still find a way to go!!
i love C4Q so much, as was mentioned before, no beavises, fuskies or flamers! also, the eDuck board i started out on seems kind of like a "good ol' boy" board, being a female and having less than 47,329 posts, they would totally ignore me!! this board is so fun and welcoming and i look forward to reading every day!! GO DUCKS!!!!

Re: Introduce yourself thread
of course i wanted the packers to win vs the vikings but when the playoff came around i found my self rooting for the vikings as much as the packers. watching brett beat the cowboys in the playoffs took away a lot of the sting from the arizona choke (jennings WIDE OPEN in ot).. but then i got to watch brett choke again in the NFC championship game.. that suckedUOducksTK1 wrote:I still love Brett too, but I can't stand him whenever the pack play against him.mdm0302 wrote:my name is michael marshall and im 19. i am attending lane c.c. staring this spring. i first started watching the ducks the year joey won the fiesta bowl. ducks became religious to me kellen's junior year.. also love basketball religiously but never played in H.S. and i dont blame this whole favre trade fiasco on anyone.. both parties made the right move. we had to play Rogers he is the future and he was going to be a free agent.. brett was still a pro bowl type player so he deserved to still play.

What's up, My name's Nick. Born and raised in Eugene (Axemen class off '99) and have been a duck fan for as long as I can remember. In the last six years I've traveled from my home in San Francisco to over 40 games, making it a point to to hit all the big non conference away games, and have been to every stadium in the Pac 10 (nothing compares to Autzen). I'd have to say the best games I've gotten to see live was Michigan in '07 the Oklahoma game we "won" and both of the trojans last 2 visits to Autzen (still trying to forget vegas bowl and Boise). I'm currently waiting to hear back on my application for USF grad school, hoping to get a master's in sports administration (I wrote about the ducks in my essay.) I spent a year working for the Raiders, where I got the pleasure of being around Kiffin on a daily basis.....and I stand by my assertion that regardless of how much of a shameless prick he is, that he will be a good college coach (i hope I'm wrong). Anyways, this board has been awesome, I especially love how much more I've gotten into the recruiting process now that I'm a member. Hope ya'll had a good president's weekend, the sig pic is me and a buddy from the big house...I'm the dude in the mask
ps see you in Tennessee!

Hi! My name is Mary and many of you know me as the lady in France. Oui, I live in Lyon France with my French husband (who doesn't understand much about le football americain) and 10 year old son. Of course, soccer reigns here and our son follows Olympique Lyonnais and FCBarcelona and both my my husband and son think that I am crazy because I am always talking about how great the Ducks are!
Anyways, I went to UO way back in the 70's, back when Animal House was filmed on campus, and attended most of the games then. What is there not to love about the Ducks? I follow them and this site religiously and try to watch all of the games online. It is also fun to chat with those of you online during the games. Usually I have to get up around 2AM to watch the games, but it is worth it! I am currently writing from Bend where we have a condo and we are going skiing today! Yes, we live just a couple of hours from some of the great French ski resorts and come to Bend to ski! lol Then, we will return for almost the entire summer.
I also traveled to Oregon during the fall of 2008 to visit my mom and got to attend two great games with my brother who has season tickets. We attended both the Stanford and Arizona games! So much fun!

Hey all. My name is Derek I'm 22 and I've been a Duck since I was old enough to understand what it meant. My dad's side of the family lived in Pleasant Hill, OR for 4 generations before moving to Knappa, OR(its by Astoria). I played baseball for Oregon Tech for 2 years before the Ducks reinstated their program
. Now I'm just coaching baseball at home before I ship out to basic for the Army in the summer.

Re: Introduce yourself thread
Hey I'm Ryan, I was born in Tucson AZ and moved here when I was 5. My dad took me to a game way back when, can't remember what year but it was against UA. We were cheering for the cats because, you know, we were from there. My first game aside from that was Cal in 07. Sucked that we lost, but that's when I became a die hard duck. in 07 I went to Cal, SC, ASU, in 08 I went to UW, watched the Purdue game during which my friends and I were so inspired by the comeback we learned the fight song, Boise State, Stanford, and the Civil War. This year I couldn't make it to as many games because I couldn't get a lot of days off of work. I work at Bellagio's Pizza in Lake Oswego. I only made it to Cal and the CW, but I listened to all of them while I was doing dishes haha.
I'm a junior at Jesuit High School and I play lacrosse for them. I'm still not sure what I want to do for which college, but I want to major in business and then go to Physical Therapy school and start my own place. My dream is to get an internship with Oregon's athletic training program and be on the field during a game like SC where the sound is deafening.
This is my friends and me at the 08 CW, I'm to the right of puddles.
