It's because he was just slow enough that he was able to make his moves at full speed...Thats what makes Reggie bush so amazing...He has the ability to make moves without slowing down and he's exceptionally fast

After looking through those past classes, I'd take a whole class of one and two star recruits if we they turned out like past two stars. I give you

Sonny Harris, Max Unger, Jeff Kendall, Brian Paysinger, Dante Rosario, JD Nelson, Terrence Whitehead, Enoka Lukas, Aaron Gipson, Jarius Byrd, Blair Phillips WTIII and my favorite duck of the past decade Patrick Chung

Did you guys that are bashing those players actually watch those seasons? Or are you just looking at the stats...Finley and Taylor were both very good as Juniors and then we're injury plagued there senior season...And Marquess Binns was thrown to the sharks with Aaron Gipson as true freshman as starting corners and both got torn up...It set them both way back...Binns transferred and it took Gipson until very late in his career to recover and regain confidence...And yes I will agree that those lower ranked players did some amazing things here...I wasn't trying to take away from that at all...Just trying to make sure you didn't take way from the players you were seeming throwing under the bus as busts without truly knowing.

The point of this thread isn't to necessarily bash anyone. My point is that a lot of fans on this site seem to think we need to sign all of these 4-5 star guys to succeed....when the unranked and 3 star guys often become better players at the college level. In other words, recruiting rankings aren't THAT accurate.

I agree 100% with what you're saying. Of course it would be great to get a lot of 4-5 star recruits in every year, but that doesn't necessarily guarantee success. Those kids are stepping up a level in competition and there's just no way to tell how they'll perform.

Look at Tennessee, LSU, Miami, etc this past season. All of those teams are loaded with big time recruits, but none of them had fantastic seasons. Tennessee had a losing record and Miami barely made a bowl game and lost it. LSU tore up Georgia Tech, but they were like 7-5 for the season the year after winning the national championship.

This coaching staff has consistantly produced year after year when it comes to recruiting and has had us in a position to compete for a national championship twice in this decade. We're going to lose some recruiting battles, but we're going to get some great players along the way too. I have a lot of confidence in this coaching staff to bring quality football players to the University of Oregon.
