New Autzen Seating

Post by pudgejeff »

Has anyone heard about the new GA setup?...With it going to reserve seats now...It's ridiculous...We need to get as many people as we can calling and complaing...That's the only way it's gonna get changed back...It's essentially like making the student section reserved which is the only logical next step if they're gonna head down this path...We need to get it stopped and get it stopped quickly.

They won't make student section reserved. They know they couldn't control it. The student section at OSewe is supposed to be "reserved" seats, but they sit wherever they want. I went to a game with a few of my OSewe friends, and someone got an usher because one of my friends was sitting in "his" seat. We and about 20 other people sitting around him belittled and ridiculed him until he left, and our friend came back =). And Reser probably has twice as many ushers as Autzen, and they actually check your ticket there.

Is the price of the new GA tickets gonna be the same as the reserved tickets?

If that's the case, then I'm definitely against it, but if the new GA tickets are about the same price as before, I wouldn't mind.

I believe the article in the register guard said they would still be 60% the cost of reserved tickets like they have been. So no change in price besides the usual yearly increase, ha!

If there is no price increase, then it sounds like a great deal. No more standing in line for 2+ hours. I've only had GA twice though.

I assume this is being done to prevent SRO ticket holders form sneaking into GA......

I've never done the GA tickets because I think standing in line for 2+ hours and then running as fast as you can is stupid and dangerous. But, if the seats are assigned then how could they be "general admission".

As a GA season ticket holder I dont like this. Im problly gone get stuck up high due to only having tickets for 2 yrs. I like to be front row or row 17 and will run for it. This sucks. also cant they make more money as GA because they can oversell the tickets knowing some people arent gonna show? Now they can only sell how many seats they have.

Man I loved running to my seats! I got such a thrill outta it. I'm only 18 so I guess it's ok for me but I understand people not wanting to run

I am a student and a GA season ticket holder. I prefer GA to the student section because all of my buddies (that aren't in school) sit there. It will be nice not to have to stop tailgating three hours early in order to get in line, but I prefer to sit on the east side in the top row and I know a lot of people like that. I am willing to stand in line for those seats. I think the major reason they are doing this is because they in the past have oversold the GA section and the want to stop people from running down the steps to the front, both of which could be fixed through better security/control! In all I think this will fix the problems but It will only create new ones!

The problem with your logic merduck is that they're reserved now so you don't get to sit with your friends who have GA seats because they have to sit in there assigned seat as do you which will be who knows where as will there's and everyone else's...it's ridiculous

Well actually I didn't explain myself fully, I sit with my friends and I think we will be able to buy one of the mentioned family packs because we already buy tickets as a group. But I agree with you if you notice I said in the end it just creates new problems for those of us who weren't complaining before! This is what always happens in situations like this. Some people complain and get what they want and then the people who weren't complaining now have something to complain about. My opinion: "It's GA people Suck it up!" :D

Agreed, my family also gets the family package for the duck games, but I usually sit with my friends. Now I don't know what to do. I remember the one time I sat next to Dad, he wouldn't shut up about how Leaf should be playing over Dixon. I love my dad, but it's hard to watch football games with him.

Not sure what to do.. I guess I'll just have to suffer.
