Taggart previously served as head coach at USF from 2012 to 2016, compiling a record of 24–25. Before coaching at USF, Taggart served as head coach at Western Kentucky University (WKU) from 2009 to 2012, compiling a record of 16–20. He is the first African American head football coach all three institutions.

This is the guy who is going to lead the Ducks to the playoffs folks.

Helf was totally riding the success of Chip Kelly. Taggart took over WKU team that went 2-22 the last two seasons before he took over. And South Florida went 3-9 the season before Taggart took over.

Helf took a team that went 36-4 the four seasons before he took over. And managed to make Oregon into a 13-12 team the last two seasons.

Gotta take the numbers within context.
