Ahh yes, the "If you don't want a kid who punches his coaches and is known for his tantrums, then you must only want choir boys" argument. Was only a matter of time. I heard that if you don't have at least three felons on a team, you can't even go to the playoffs.

If this discussion was around someone with drug offenses, I'd be fine. However, when the issue is not knowing how to keep one's hands to themselves, that's a different story.

Everyone will forever want to bag on Baylor, Penn State, etc. But if it helps their team win, then what the hay!

So is the consensus that he is going to USC then. I would say am surprised but through the years know USC gets whoever they want and it is never about the direction of program. It happened even when on probation. Sad that kids go there despite them not being relevant in the playoffs and that has been the case for 9 years now.

The latest is that not even the Flowe's know where he's going. Current speculation on here is only that USC gets him based on recency bias. But other than that, let's call it a 50/50 split for lack of any better insight.

I don’t know that it’s the consensus but it’s definitely closer than we would like.

I think the trend of them getting whoever they want is slowly starting to die. Just last year, Oregon took numerous players that USC was after: Thibodeaux, Tuanu'u, Wright, Funa to name a few. USC might still get the occasional kid like Steele and maybe even Flowe, but I don't think it's a given that they swoop in and get them any longer.

As we debate the merits of Washington does anybody know what happened to Rodney Woods? Bellotti and Aliotti worked to get a serious felony reduced to a misdemeanor for the JC defensive back. To the best of my knowledge Woods stayed out of serious trouble while in Eugene but I've often wondered if he took advantage of his second chance.

This is the really bizarre state of USC recruiting. It's in the 70's now nationally, the coach is a punchline, new AD; and they don't get whoever they want anymore. But, the big star receuit is still drawn to the tradition, 55.
Some of it is because our wishes have never been more different than that of a recruit. WE want them to come, be part of the team/building it to greatness. The recruit wants to come where HIS star shines the brightest, not as interested in being part of something.

The systemic cover-up of numerous sexual assaults by university officials and the covering up of a pedophile predator on the coaching staff is not the same thing as taking a kid who punched a coach.

I don't want to have this debate, it's a waste of time and is distracting us from the Christmas Eve of recruiting. Let's just agree to disagree and see what even happens down the line, if we even have a chance at this kid or if the coaches do decide they even want him.

Certainly (agree to disagree). I just see comments like "I trust Cristobal's judgement" and think about how well that worked out with Jalen Hall.

Remember last year when we were all convinced Funa had flipped to USC on signing day?

Oregon gave him a chance to turn his life around but he left and then got himself locked up in prison. That's not on the coaches for him doing what he did down in LA after he left.

Man you are reaching, one guy doesn’t work out (that left program before real trouble) so you disregard the 100’s of recruits that he has recruiting do great and now we shouldn’t trust him!?!? You are entitled to your opinion but you have to see how you example is insane, right?

I'd rather have him go to USC than Utah or UW.

Hope this kid knows their potential on D at USC and he can be expected to play for a new coach sometime soon at USC. Betting USC played the "we have so much talent and if we didn't have so many key injuries this year, we would have won the pac12" card.

Really hope we land Flowe and all this USC talk is just circular paranoia.

Could Phil Knight build a beach in Eugene?
Willie Taggart is a dick.

Recruitniks Simmons and Biggins*, who earlier today predicted Flowe to USC, are now predicting him to Oregon.

This one is wide open, boys and girls. I wonder if Flowe even knows where he's going.
