Every school has big players “you don’t wanna mess with” like Penei. If he wants to change CMC will create an environment that here he can succeed, but if he doesn’t want to change there ain’t nothing CMC or any other coach can do.OregonFan4Life wrote:I know there's red flags, just curious where'd that put Oregon's recruiting class in terms of rankings. That guy is a freak athlete and with Cristobal I'm sure he'd straighten out and contribute to the team. Besides if he tries to punch a coach with Penei Sewell around it wouldn't go well for him.greenyellow wrote:Staff is in a wait-and-see mode with him. There's some red flags with him (lost his cool with an assistant coach during a game, already has a kid, rumors of grade and partying/drinking issues) and he seems to trying to get some bigger schools to chase him by waiting.OregonFan4Life wrote:What about Washington?duck541 wrote:With the addition of Ashford and likely Manning, and the loss of Figgins and Latu the class will end up around #11. That sounds about right. If we also land Ringo it jumps to around #8.

So with 4 QBs all rated 4* out of HS, who will it be? Shough should have a little edge in time in program. I would assume at least one transfers.

Shough is the favorite due to time and some (some) game time. Millen didn't do much of anything due to surgery so he hasn't had a chance to learn the playbook as much as he would've had he been healthy. Butterfield might come in and challenge for 2nd along with Ashford. 3 way battle, they might want to redshirt one of them if there's a clear pecking order by fall.

Eventually. That is the reality of modern-day college football. We should be good next year, though.duck58 wrote:So with 4 QBs all rated 4* out of HS, who will it be? Shough should have a little edge in time in program. I would assume at least one transfers.

What Oregon really needs to happen is for the offensive recruiting to match the defensive recruiting. I think Oregon needs to get some absolute studs at the RB, WR, and TE positions before they're anywhere near the same level as like Ohio State, LSU, Clemson and Alabama.

We should be good, but if Shough goes down, it’s another situation of throwing in a backup having zero experience, which isn’t good. This is today’s reality, like you mention, unfortunately. Millen would most likely be the backup, and he was heavily limited by injury this year. Not only no game experience, but limited practice experience.Phenom wrote:Eventually. By all accounts, Yaffe had the practice squad humming by the end of the year, and deserves mention.

Wonder if Jay B. and/or Robby A. will be able to come early for spring. It just seems that from the 4 there should be 1 or 2 standouts. I favor game experience. That's why I was one of those in favor of Bennett over Mariota. Bennett was good, but, we know how that went. Be nice if there was at least a Bennett in the group, if not another MM.Everythingsducky wrote:We should be good, but if Shough goes down, it’s another situation of throwing in a backup having zero experience, which isn’t good. I can’t imagine he would be enrolled for spring, Ashford is a better baseball player than he is football player and he’s not going to skip his senior season

From what I’ve seen, ISM is pretty slow.Duck24 wrote:Not even so much of the excitement is that those would be the starters, just the pure talent. I don’t see ISM getting pushed to the bench and like you said, Adrian Jackson. Just coming from a team depraved of any real defensive talent or coherent coaching to now having a hoard of prospective talent and competent coaching, in such a short amount of time is incredible.HomeSickDuck wrote:I feel like once Adrian Jackson is finally healthy, he might push for a spot.Duck24 wrote:
