I wonder when the last time the #1 seeds in both baseball and softball failed to reach the super regionals was, that has to be a rare occurrence.

Mississippi State, which is a much bigger spender than Oregon and was rumored to have interest in Coach Waz, hired Virginia's longtime coach. Sports Exclusively Considered schools truly have money to burn.

I should have mentioned that #2 Texas also failed to advance. So did #7 Georgia and #10 Ole Miss is currently down seven runs, so they're about to lose unless they stage an incredible comeback. #6 LSU has a game later tonight with their season on the line. Altogether, that would be 5 or 6 of the top 12 seeds failing to get out of the regionals.

What a wild year! Now nobody will remember Oregon going 0-2 except for Oregon fans.

LSU is down 1-5 after 3 innings. Rough regionals for the SEC.
