LB Kamar Mothudi In the portal. This is surprising - seems like there is plenty of opportunity at LB.

So far he is behind Mixon, Jackson and Williams. Pretty simple math.GDuck wrote: Sat Jan 10, 2026 7:36 pm LB Kamar Mothudi In the portal. This is surprising - seems like there is plenty of opportunity at LB.
That’s nothing with our injury history and how we want to rotate defenders. Plus he’s only a RS Freshman - many more years to go.Everythingsducky wrote: Sat Jan 10, 2026 7:42 pmSo far he is behind Mixon, Jackson and Williams. He creates most of his sacks. Holds the ball far, far too long while looking for the big play and he won't fix it in one off-season, so I would give us a 0% chance of winning a national championship in 2026 if that's who we're going with.GDuck wrote: Sat Jan 10, 2026 5:40 pm What don’t you like about him? He tries to be Mahomes? He was a 5 star recruit and seems like a fighter and competitive guy.
Why can’t he fix it in one offseason - especially if he gets good coaching? Seems pretty presumptuous.StevensTechU wrote: Sat Jan 10, 2026 7:56 pmHe creates most of his sacks. Isn't all scouting presumptuous? Should we just pick a name out of a hat because there's no certain means of knowing what the future holds?GDuck wrote: Sat Jan 10, 2026 8:00 pmWhy can’t he fix it in one offseason - especially if he gets good coaching? Could he? Sure, but that seems more like a hope than a sure thing especially when we don’t have an OC and QB coach currently.GDuck wrote:Why can’t he fix it in one offseason - especially if he gets good coaching? Huh? Sorry, not following picking a name out of a hat?StevensTechU wrote: Sat Jan 10, 2026 8:12 pmIsn't all scouting presumptuous? Seems more than rumor as a couple national recruiting guys are reporting that.buckmarkduck wrote: Sat Jan 10, 2026 6:33 pmSaw an interview a couple day ago, saying his family wants him at UO. Rumor is he would even be willing to backup Moore for a year, but don’t know how true that is or not n
Thanks for your thoughts around your opinion. Every player including Moore has bad habits they need to break. I stand by my statement that it is presumptuous saying Raiola can’t learn to better avoid taking big losses in one offseason with new coaches and atmosphere.StevensTechU wrote: Sat Jan 10, 2026 8:35 pm And maybe you'd be right. The statement "Seems pretty presumptuous" is slightly ridiculous given this is a conversation about projecting how good someone will be in the future.
Here are my observations, and how I arrive at my presumptuous take.. Raiola has been groomed as a quarterback from a football family most of his life. He has received among the best coaching at every level. He has two seasons as a starter in college under his belt. Watching his performance in 2025 was far from impressive, as it seemed like he misunderstood how to run an offense, frequently holding onto the ball for far too long and taking sacks that put his offense in a losing position. He has habits he needs to break, and a lot to learn about the position and football generally. He's the anti-Fernando Mendoza, if you will. Now that we're in an era where you spend millions on a quarterback and increasing put all your eggs in one basket, going with Raiola seems little more than a prayer.
If he wants to take a small check and sit behind a guy who is presently better, that sounds great.
Bummer. I was excited about him when he signed.GDuck wrote: Sat Jan 10, 2026 7:36 pm LB Kamar Mothudi In the portal. This is surprising - seems like there is plenty of opportunity at LB.
