I wouldn't read too much into this game other than sub-par OL play.
Lanning likes to experiment around the first couple of games with lineups so this isn't necessarily the best combo of players we use late in the season.

Other thoughts:

1. We're breaking in a lot of new players into new roles. There's going to be growing pains. Tysheem Johnson who played hundreds of snaps last season didn't even start this game. Maybe Lanning believes some of the younger players have higher ceilings and this is the time to break them into the game

2. Brandon Johnson didn't look good. Could've easily been 2 PI's against him. he had no idea where the ball was on both pivotal moments in the game when a ball was tossed his way

3. I think Gabriel's blind side is his right side since he's left handed. Cornelius was having a rough game, and I think that was made a lot worse because the QB can usually have a good idea of action on the right side. The RG didn't have that much of a better game either. I might be wrong but the left side of the line looked a lot better.

It's said that the biggest improvement is from Wk.1 to Wk.2 definitely hope that's true, Boise State beat Georgia Southern, 56-45, on the road.

You shouldn’t post during games. It’s embarrassing.

I was not expecting that kind of game from Oregon today. Defense was actually decent besides the couple drives they got burned by screens and trick plays. The offense needs a lot of work along the OL as they got beat way too often and too many penalties.

I am honestly shocked. O-line penalties were killers. Big vote of no confidence going into the Boise State game. Everyone in the BIG crushed their opponents today, with the exception of the Ducks, mostly against better teams than Idaho. Lanning being Lanning again with two failed 4th down attempts. Dude has some splaining to do.

4th downs aren’t an issue, as they arguably won the game with a TD on 4th and 2. I think Lanning needs to call an emergency meeting with Terry tonight and basically say if the OLine doesn’t improve drastically going forward you’re gone. Like others have said, there were minor issues but ultimately the OLine play was a giant glaring issue. If we traded OLine play with our FCS opponent the final score is probably like 45-7.

We should be a much better team when:

-We get some injured OLmen back.
-DG is allowed to rush.
-Open the game to our full playbook.

I’m hoping for a Hythloday full breakdown of the OLine, just talking to others, I wonder how much of the OLine issues we’re losing 1v1 battles vs miscues, as a casual fan I saw quite a few miscues so maybe this is something that will get cleaned and will see drastic improvement next week.

I'm not worried.

That was close to being a blowout and just weird things happened and it wasn't. Glad this happened this game and not in Corvallis.

The O-line was "eh" but it's a new line in week 1. I'll be a lot more worried if it looks like this against BSU, but for now my grade is "meh." No other position group usually goes through as much improvement over weeks one and two as the O-line (especially a new O-line) so just hard to really draw any conclusions.

We started out last year looking awful against Texas Tech and needed a miracle to escape with a win. Within a few weeks, we looked like a playoff team.

Chill and trust the progrum.

We survived. Sometimes, that's the win.
Willie Taggart is a dick.

Gabriel was a warrior today. Pressured all day and still reeled off 380 yards, no ints, 90% completions. This was simple a crappy game by Oregon. If the OLine doesn’t come together real soon, it’ll be a long year. If they do, we’ll be plenty good.

So what's the problem? A dominant OL the past two years, Oregon returns 3 starters from last year's elite unit (including both bookend tackles) and was pushed around by an FCS foe (at home!) all game long. I understand we lost our conductor and top Center in JPJ but should that really cause everything we saw today? Ajani didn't look like himself on the end, guards were tripping over themselves, minimal push and little pass protection time.

Is the solution to just move Poncho to C and find a stopgap at G until Bedford returns?

Lol, the OL looked fine under Terry’s tutelage last year. Because of one bad game in game 1 with a new OL his job should be on the line? Also, I think you mentioned Gabriel giving Prukop vibes. How is that comparable? Gabriel has extensive experience in D1 and has shown to be a good QB there, while Prukop was an FCS guy with no experience against top programs. I understand it was an ugly game and you overreact to every bad thing that happens with the team, but tonight may be some of your best work.
