Hopefully it’s only the “key player” that was entering the transfer portal is sick.

Which rumors do you choose to believe? Were the sick during the Big Ten championship game or are they sick now? The likelihood of them being sick twice in a few week span is low.

Also the rumors of them being sick for the Rose Bowl started like 3-4 days ago. So a good chance everyone is on the tail-end of things or are even better by now.
I am just posting the rumors, who knows what is true. But there’s been enough sicknesses going around Eugene it’s believable to me. Plus often times where there’s smoke there’s fire. I have no idea what’s true or not true but I figured it’s worth posting on a forum.
The best way to stop a rumor is to stop repeating it

That's fine, I was just asking which rumor you thought held more weight. Also for future reference, usually good idea to share the source of a rumor too.
Fair enough, no link for this one, just text/coworkers including coworker that’s friends with one of the equipment managers.

I want to hear any and all rumors, linked or not, as long as they don't disparage the character of players/coaches. The rumor that the defensive players in the Big 10 Championship game were sick was very plausible; the front seven looked sluggish and slow to react. Hopefully if they have been sick, they have gotten over it tomorrow. I have a terrible feeling about the game anyway, without our players also being out sick.

Knowing Lanning and staff, THEY are the ones spreading the "sick" rumor. DL leaves no stone unturned. Guy is god level playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers.

Going into this game, I really like that we have Tez Johnson, Dillon Gabriel, Jordon James, and two NFL caliber tackles on offense. You need difference makers in games like this. Guys who can make plays regardless of who is on the other side. In addition to those guys, there are still a bunch of other weapons who make it so these guys don't have to do it all. Gotta love that.

Stop the run. Pressure the quarterback. Do what you've done all season. Go Ducks.

Tweets Bookmarked, Prayers Sent, Happy New Year's, Go Ducks!

Blessed to be in another Rose Bowl, but we all want this one in the worst way as long time Duck fans.

Safety play is the largest concern after recent games. DG and having a deep D-line and skill room are the things to lay the hopes on.

This is a prove it game for the defensive coaching staff. Several lesser b10 teams have been able to keep OSU’s offense in check for large portions of the game. If Illinois, Nebraska, NW, and Michigan can do it, Oregon needs to slow them down this time around. Oregon gains arguably their best DL and OSU loses their two best OL. Need several consecutive stops/takeaways to take some pressure off of the offense.
I like the growth on D this year, but we’ve still struggled against good offenses (BSU, OSU, PSU). A lot of us questioned Tosh’s X’s and O’s when he was brought in, but still believed Lanning, especially after the Hampton hire, had the chops to orchestrate an elite scheme. Time to see it on the big stage.

With the time Oregon has had off, I’m nervous about a slow start. It’s crucial they put OSU on their heals early. Time and again this season, OSU has shown to be a different, much more beatable team, when they get punched in the mouth early.

This year the Ducks beat Boise State for the first time as revenge for three ridiculous losses and Penn State as revenge for the 1995 Rose Bowl. To beat Ohio State in the Rose Bowl would avenge losses in 1958, 2010, and the 2015 National Championship game. Maybe it's too much to expect all in one year, but it would complete the circle for a poetic year in Oregon football history. Go Ducks!
