Just another late inning implosion . . . 2 runs to tie it bottom of the 9th. Alex Keudell came in and couldn't save the game. It's so crazy how contagious it is when we fall apart, they all want to get into the act!

My attempt to unjinx.. Well guys on first and third no outs, Ducks never do anything in these kind of situations.

Apparently ended in a tie. We had the bases loaded in the 10th but we must have needed to get back to Eugene. Bummer.

It was called for rain. It's pouring in PDX. Too bad we couldn't hold on in the 9th . . . like so many other games. Error in the 9th = tie; No error = third out and win.

Oregon's game at Seattle ends in 7-7 tie b/c of rain. Ducks had bases loaded, 2 outs in top 10th. Very peculiar timing.

Peculiar indeed. Why not call it at the end of 9 or play through 10 and call it (if necessary)? Why let us load the bases and then call it?

If Jerry Allen is to be believed (I'm aware of the odd paradox this implies) we got the screw job in the 9th, too. Bases were loaded, Peterson hit a ball to right, the runner at 3B scored easily and Pulfer, according to Jerry, clearly slid under the tag and scored, but the umpire called him out. According to Jerry, the umpire was in no position to make the call, and the catcher was blocking him from the play. Jerry said it wasn't close.

Not being able to see the play myself, I have no idea what happened.

I would have loved to see Horton's reaction when they called the game with the bases loaded.

I could imagine he was a little PO'd but with a rain delay and Oregon having to get back, I doubt they had much choice.

I guess I'm not entirely sure why, in a game played in a steady downpour from the 7th inning on, that they even decided to play the 10th inning. They all met after the 9th and decided to keep going. The field was crap, the rain was coming down. 10 minutes later, once Oregon loaded the bases, suddenly it's time to call it quits? Realy? They couldn't have decided to just end it after 9?

I mean, we wouldn't have scored anyway, we'd probably strike out or something. But still. Perplexing decision.

If the game had been played at PK Park, the game probably would have kept going due to the amount of rain it can handle. It sounds more like time constraints for Oregon getting back to Eugene ended the game than the rain.
