Our bowl record last year should show that we are playing at a high level and hopefully will balance. I for one as a season ticket holder that has to drive 2.5 hours each way to watch a game, will be pissed if I get dealt a bunch of Portland State or like games to watch. I love the way it is. But I don't fill the BCS pockets with cash either so my opinion isn't worth the internet space I am taking up.

It makes no sense because the round robin format means that even though USC and ASU had the same conference record, USC beat ASU and therefore USC should have been the lone champion. If the tie-breaker means nothing more than who goes to the Rose Bowl, then it is useless in determining the conference champion. Isn't the definition of a tie breaker TO BREAK A TIE and determine the actual champion?

From
http://newsok.com/big-12-still-lags-beh ... le/3365476:
Big 12 football teams play 48 non-conference games this season. Only 11 are against fellow BCS leagues.
That’s 22.9 percent, and that stinks. It’s the lowest figure among the six major conferences.
The Pac-10 plays half its games (15 of 30) against equal-footing foes.
The Atlantic Coast Conference plays 41.6 percent, the Big East 40 percent, the Big Ten 31.8 percent and the SEC 29.2.
At least the Big 12 fares a little better in I-AA opponents.
Big 12 teams will play nine games against lower-classification schools, who hand out fewer scholarships (63, typically) than the 85-limit for major-college football.
The ACC is playing 14 games against I-AA foes, the SEC 11.
The Pac-10, as with all scheduling, fares best, with just four lower-division opponents out of 30 games.
Too bad people don't put enough emphasis on strength-of-schedules by conference. Sure your conference is going to look strong when you look at records only in numerals and you mostly play patsies... *cough* SEC *cough*

The problem would be solved if they #1 removed the human poll from the rankings and #2 used a score-based computer ranking instead of the win-based system. Not all wins are equal. A five year old can observe that.

I don't want to see the Ducks play Portland State, Utah State or any other teams to pad their schedule. If they went back to 4 out of conference games or kept it like it is I would like to see one traditional powerhouse (Michigan, Ohio State, Miami, etc.) every year with the others being good teams (Utah, Boise State, Fresno State, BYU, etc.) that garner attention for the Ducks because of their strength of schedule. The Ducks have been doing that for a few years now but they still have the Portland State, Utah State teams that hurt them. Funny that the Troy's, Charleston Southern's etc. never hurt Ohio State, LSU, Florida, etc. I like the current format for the PAC-10 and it is only a matter of Oregon, Cal or somebody else (preferbly and most likely Oregon) stepping up year in and year out competing with USC for the perception of the PAC-10 to change.
